Late (correction) response, but I've been digging around while waiting for the package to get shipped. The actual differences between the Ultimate and Limited Edition Blu-Ray sets and the Standard Edition Blu-Ray set are the following:
Disc 6 contains EoE's "Video Format" Version (has been...
Ah, good to know! Might wanna crunch over the numbers after a year or so to see if it's worthwhile. Their page indicated "exclusive products" available for purchase as well, but seems like it's either not noteworthy or nothing of that calibre has been put out yet by ATA's team.
Is the Anime (Un)limited subscription service worth it for international customers, in any way?
It's not clear to me what AUL offers, besides a coupon code for the current sale and a physical magazine. Not sure what else it does offer through out the year.
The moment Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood got pulled off European Netflix without it being streamable on any other service like Crunchyroll definitely made me buy anime Blu-Rays of shows I really care about/enjoy. Nowadays they added it back, but the original 2003 series still has an annoying...
All the Anime's entry shows retail price "is usually" at 79.99, while the current price is 59.99 (UK VAT included) due to a promotion/discount. Not sure whether that'll added to the Early Bird Redux, sadly.
I believe these are all on the standard edition as well. I do remember partial animatics, full songs and teasers/trailers for EoE on the standard edition. See the box art (Blu-Ray.com entry):
Thank you, ATA. 🙏
Glad I've discovered them earlier this year. I was astonished by the quality in dubs on the standard edition on Eva. Wonder how it fares with other anime as well.
Video-content wise, only the classic sub and dub are included along with the official/since Netflix sub and dub.
Otherwise: different packaging and an advertisement poster. I don't spot anything else different compared to the standard edition.
Yeah, Fly Me to the Moon got replaced with the music track Rei I. Said song even got filtered out of some bonus features, where you can only slightly hear it. (I believe one of the VHS features that got an interview with Anno?)
The other difference is that the older/"classic" US dub and subs...
Same here, haha. Would've been a great opportunity to upgrade my regular edition I got a year ago. Not too big of a loss to me, have never really tried the older US dubs/subs after all.
Hi y'all,
I'm TopHat - enthousiast in collecting Blu-Rays and other physical media since a couple years ago to avoid the issues with streaming services. Have been watching anime since a kid, but really got into some series since 2017-ish.
I've only recently discovered this forums due to All...
Might be worth mentioning, I noticed this item as a lightning deal in the morning (8:20 AM UK time, just before the flash sales started):
Blood-C got to be the first item earlier today, I do wonder if this'll be the last item (or whether it was a placeholder/leftover from a similar sale in...
