No you don't, I have a free account on my Xbox 360 and I can use their app (and Crunchyroll's) with no problem :-)

If it was £15 or so, so I wouldn't get hit by customs and then have to pay £8 - £14 in handling fees on top, then I might of tried it as a once off, but sadly I think I'll just stick to being a free user and hope that they change their mind.
