I really must stop this! My latest folly from AllYourMusic:
The Pirates of Penzance DVD (Australian stage version) (£19.07), Namie Amuro - Finally 3 CDs with Blu-ray and Poster (£40.78), Himouto Umaru-chan R Blu-ray (£31.20), and Bibliophile Princess Complete Collection Blu-ray (£27.89)
It's probably not streamable, but I can definitely recommend the DVD of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar for young viewers (and old sentimental fools like me).
I've had these two for years, and the writer (an American living in Japan in the 1970s) is very funny. They are all from columns in Japan Times about his family's experiences in what at times sounds unbelievable. Getting both for just £4 (with postage) is a real bargain...
Watched the entire episode (it was the Okinawa beach one with the girls in bikini's, so no great burden) and apart from one missing word ina sentence about six minutes in, everything looked fine.
R: Zero episodes 1-12 (rewatch): Decided it was time to tackle season 2, but as it's been ages since I watched it, that means going from the start. Still can't stand Subaru, but the rest of the cast is pleasant.
I checked back on who I'd predicted after watching season 2 and I was also incorrect. On the bright side, that just means OUR girls are still single!
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie: Finally we have a resolution. The tension leading up to the big reveal was emotionally exhausting, but I think the journey was worthwhile.
Ranma 1/2 Eleven OVA's and movie 3: Finished! Some average episodes and some absolute corkers. It's been worth the journey, though. That was one of the ugliest phoenixes I've ever seen.
Fortune Favours Lady Nikuko: delightful movie about a mother and her daughter living in a small town. Some good surprises along the way, good characters and very enchanting visuals. Sadly, all the Japanese puns and wordplay probably lost a bit in translation.
Classicaloid: Not sure I'll be...
Used my CEX voucher to pick these up:
Dr. Stone Season 1 (12) 4 Discs Zavvi Exc. Steelbook
Konosuba: God's Blessing On This Wonderful World - Season Two
Oops. There was a pointless 13th episode after everything had been wrapped up, which was basically a battle to show off the girls boobs. I suppose it makes a change for the usual trip to a hot spring.
Stella Women's Academy High School Division C3 episodes 6-12: This got weird. Right after making a mistake that enabled her team to win a big competition, our lead suddenly changed schools and joined the mail rival's team without telling her teammates. Then she goes back to the old school but is...
He Is My Master episodes 6-12: the craziness continued right to the end. Good fun series as long as you block from you mind the inconvenient fact that they are all supposed to be 13-14 years old. They are all drawn and act much older anyway. The nudity was "sanitised" right up until the final...
Stella Women's Academy High School Division C3 episodes 1-5: standard new shy girl at school enticed into joining a club desperately short of members, who play an obscure sport. In this case it's pellet gun war games. Animation nothing astounding but there's a few interesting scenarios...
Himouto! Umaru-chan complete series 1: OK, she's a monsterous manipulative slob who treats her brother appallingly, but she is cute and talented (and an attractive teenage girl) so of course she gets away with it. So many fake personalities I'm amazed she can remember who she is. I suppose I'll...
To be fair, I think I haven't been charged since Royal Mail was privatised. Before that, I think it was every second or third parcel that for hit. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Well! I must apologise to Royal Mail, as my Sentai/Stackry order finally arrived, and the label does say it was sent from Sweden. No idea why it went missing for a week, though. Again no customs charges. It's been years since I've been hit with a fee. Another Brexit bonus? Settling in with...
Konosuba episodes 6-10 & OVA: The silliness continued. The OVA can be skipped if you're not a fan of women being humiliated and huge boob jokes. I wonder if it's only Japanese people who get reincarnated into this fantasy world.
