UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Ugh, why would you put such spine on the digipak?! Is it mendatory due to the BBFC rules or something? Because it's really hideous. I mean, I can understand for the rating but certainly not for the BD/DVD signs, the distributor reference and your logo (that just looks like a blue stain there...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

If it sells, they'll try for higher. It's up to the consumer to get upset and, like… boycott a release when they feel like it's starting to go nuts.

Don't complain, at least you guys had chapters. In France they thought Blu-ray was a video tape. I can understand you want to support your release but I think you're forcing way too much there. The french release is perfectly fine. It may not be chipboard and others but that certainly doesn't...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

It was 60€ and everything was terrible. No chapters, atrocious packaging (quality & artwork), etc. No wonder why people suggested to go for the UK release instead. The UK release may be bad, it's still better & cheaper than the local one.

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Sure do, but I'm certain we're talking about way less money than paying for a dub (FMP TSR has never been dubbed in french) + authoring 7 blu-rays.

French boxset SRP is 48£. Are you implying french subs & dubs cost nothing? The french distributors also need to author the discs themself and cannot use an external source to minimize costs. And no, the french market is certainly not healthier. The grass may seem greener there, it's not.

Is the £85 pirce for Akeme Ga Kill Collectors Edition BD A Sad Example Of How Bad The UK Anime Marke

It might be time to reconsider that since Manga isn't owned anymore by some big company that had no clue about the anime niche.

Is the £85 pirce for Akeme Ga Kill Collectors Edition BD A Sad Example Of How Bad The UK Anime Marke

Please don't start this. AKG will get the exact same treatment as the previous sentai collector box. The release will certainly be better than SD, without a doubt. Indeed it's not out yet but we have enough knowledge to know how it should end up ;) Considering zavvi cut FMP price in half at...

Is the £85 pirce for Akeme Ga Kill Collectors Edition BD A Sad Example Of How Bad The UK Anime Marke

As I said, the price is certainly high but I do remember some quite high SRP from AL such as Space Dandy at 69£. The SD CE has way less content and a lower manufacturing quality (badly sticked box artwork, not centered, low quality glue, etc.).

Is the £85 pirce for Akeme Ga Kill Collectors Edition BD A Sad Example Of How Bad The UK Anime Marke

The price might be slightly higher but that's pretty much what anime limited is doing right now. LE/CE then SE. Price aside, I do not understand the hate there while you're totally fine with that strategy from another distributor. And on top of that, we do not know the details of the deal with...

It looks quite good, yeah. Too bad the show is terribly written.

    How Are Non-UK Kaze Releases

There's technically nothing wrong this this. You can fit 5 hours of content on a BD50 with a bitrate of 21.5Mbps (which is completly fine if done right). I've no idea how kaze handled this but you can't say it's bad so quickly.

    How Are Non-UK Kaze Releases

They go from OK to as bad as you guys get. The films usually get good treatment while the series, err… no.
