I was going to suggest that a directly comparable £50 order would still be £5 ‘cheaper’ with the (un)limited 10% discount. But suddenly had the realisation that I don’t know if the minimum for free shipping is before discounts or overall.
If it’s after discounts, then you would indeed end up...
The thing is; they’re presumably still predominantly selling their own products direct to the customer, which means getting the full chunk of retail profit (as opposed to just the b2b or store fraction).
Perhaps there’s some benefit of economy of scale for some (such as rarewaves), but I doubt...
So what is it supposed to be? £20 or £50?
Because that’s quite a difference not just in absolute price (2.5x), but (as noted in other posts) it’s literally either side of the threshold for most of the EB or ‘fancier edition’ releases.
I would normally assume it’s best to wait for them to...
Well, that makes a bit of an organisational mess. Wouldn’t it have been better to label the CE as part 1&2 (combined)?
After a few more sets, the numbers will be diverging further. Ok, it’s not hard to just divide / multiply by two, but you shouldn’t have to for ‘paired’ releases by the same...
Perhaps I should clarify that; yes, the standard 10% works on the sale items (Bleach is £40.49), but that’s the usual discount we’ve paid for.
And the sale items are available to all, so not an (un)limited perk either.
And related; I’ve never seen Bleach.
Convince me to order (or suggest I wait...
So there’s a bunch of stuff on offer both at MCM and on the website, but I can’t see any mention of the ‘special offers at conventions’ for anime unlimited members.
Should I have an extra discount code or something? Is there some free extra with purchase if buying on location or something?
Oh no. Please.
I think I’m suffering severe DOTW withdrawal, as I’m actually considering trying this again.
I haven’t bought any of the last 4-5 DOTW simply because I’ve already got the titles. It’s like they’re trying to tell me ‘you have too much anime’, except as you can see; the message...
I’m far from an expert, but I simply watched all three of these in sequence without having seen any other monogatari.
Seem to be pretty self-contained, but I guess now someone’s going to point out that there’s a larger back story to a character, that I’m not appreciating without watching a...
When this was originally announced (by CR, a year ago), it was less than £50 for the full series. I’m pretty sure we predicted if/when re-listed it would have a doubling in price by splitting into two part sets...
And related; the srp of the US set is $90 (vs UK £150?). So whether you look at...
I’m reminded of this:
Post in thread 'The Im looking for thread.'
The *Im looking for* thread.
I’m not saying there’s a set available, but possibly worth asking?
The titles you ask about did have second CE releases:
Gurren Lagann had a Zavvi version that I believe is slightly more compact (I only have the original, and there’s a lot of space in the digipak!)
Kill La Kill had the slip box ‘LE’ that you picture, which seemed to become the ATA way of doing...
It’s another one that I bought last time it was DOTW and still haven’t even taken it out the shrinkwrap! No particular reason - it just sat in the pile, gradually getting buried deeper.
Looking in my purchase history, that was two years ago for the same price.
I cancelled when the UK CE was (re-)announced. Of course, I thought the uk version shown was all ready to go, and didn’t expect it to take that much longer. But more extras and box art.
I dunno if it’s it’s a good thing you’ve jinxed this, and the standard edition is now going to all fit in a...
I’m somewhat struggling.
I feel almost obligated to get something from the sale, but I would summarise the selection as either titles I’ve already got, or not really discounted.
And the EB redux titles don’t seem to be the same price as the original EB? I don’t have info for many, but looking in...
Never seen it either, and pretty much all I know is inferred from images of tall and serious people posing with big swords.
Which presents a small problem for me; why would I start watching an incomplete set?
If they sold the whole thing in one bulk go, then no problem - I can stick that on a...
Probably concluded that ‘pot noodle’ is an important part of the English Naruto experience, and are currently identifying and converting all instances.
Can anyone enlighten me as to any benefits I’m overlooking with this?
Even the 10% (or 5%?) off isn’t really a saving over purchasing elsewhere (especially with the £6 shipping), and from what I can tell the only other part to it is some streaming access. Perhaps it‘s a different story for...
I guess I shouldn’t really care that the CE isn’t an option, as that was just art cards in a box with an identical picture.
I do find it strange that the DOTW doesn’t include the DVD version that’s still listed at a higher price (I thought they would still be clearing out the DVDs)
