UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Re Testament - As we used the Funimation master for Season 1 - we're just awaiting on a delivery date for Season 2 now. As soon as we have one that date will shift round of course :). Re Maquia - Yes - it's a similar situation to A Silent Voice - there's a lot of extras we have access to so...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Both are scheduled, but as those aren't ones where it matters about high street retailers so much due to the nature of them - we list them a bit later. Euphonium is due in September so listings should be up shortly for it :). Thunderbolt isn't looking like it's far behind either, just getting...

    [Overseas] Anime News & Announcements

Christmas card crisis averted, clearly me being daft on a Sunday and not reading - sorry! You can tell I forgot Pony Canyon was still active in the US market there since their last wave of releases... AP

    [Overseas] Anime News & Announcements

I can see who's off my Christmas card list this year...!* For what it's worth I'd always say that every company is different, not really better or worse generally - that is really on a person-to-person level and mileage varies. It's true that Keith will literally kill me if we skip G Gundam...

The gap between UK & The World for theatrical releases such as Code Geass Discussion

Doubt away :). Doesn't change my plans one way or another though! AP

The gap between UK & The World for theatrical releases such as Code Geass Discussion

Sure am aware, but we can still release it on homevideo before R3. It doesn't necessitate a theatrical release to ensure people know. I would also hope given R3 has a wider appeal than a compilation film that they do a good job at the start of priming people going in of the difference :)...

The gap between UK & The World for theatrical releases such as Code Geass Discussion

I like this kind of surprise and reaction :D! We'll definitely do the others and need to think on how to do film 2 & 3 theatrically (really depends on what they're like in the end - will be checking them out as soon as I can though!) We'll not break format though and stop doing LE's or such...

The gap between UK & The World for theatrical releases such as Code Geass Discussion

As a film festival director - this is 99% of my day to day life before and after we launch our line up xD. Our line up will never be perfect for everyone, we just do the best we can to deliver a good line-up annually to people :). Sometime's it is a leap of faith if you're travelling further...

The gap between UK & The World for theatrical releases such as Code Geass Discussion

I'll happily enlighten folks on the process here! Re release format - If we do a title theatrically in multiple chains we tend to do all three types of homevideo at once is the rule (Standards + LE). The logic is basically as the theatrical audience converts to a somewhat wider buying...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

Actually - it's because I did the design work and France has one for two reasons: Firstly - They have 2 SKUs - 1 BD and 1 DVD so they need to differentiate and an O-Card is the best way to do that. Secondly - There was a lot of promotion around simulcast done using the keyart a lot in...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

No bribe - but it'd have been very difficult to do given the assets available and approvals in that case are extremely strict so it wasn't a risk we could really take. Given the time gap as was there between parts alas! Best, AP

As soon as we have the products listed I'll yell - but we don't just have standards planned (materials were a bit ropey so it's into approval now - will yell when done!) AP

Yeah - we're old friends with a lot of folks over there so share trailers where we can to help out :). Nothing crazy going on there just a friendly share of promo assets - always nice to see though! Best, AP

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Been a bit busy so may have missed the initial query - sorry! Yes basically we only really move the prices when there is an extra cost involved than just producing the set there. For the Night is Short set you have to keep in mind there was the added cost of printing the poster, packing...

    1. In fairness there was pretty heavy coverage from the minute the MCM advanced stock arrived and we started investigating as soon as we could too there. Covered that whole situation before so won't go back over it right now (mostly as I'm meant to be away by now from my desk!) 2. Also worth...

Re pricing - In fairness, that doesn't mean that prices are increasing gradually - the SRPs have not raised since we started releasing in earnest in 2014 but what has changed is Amazon's algorithm is no longer discounting product as much usually (which is a huge issue for all of us in anime...
