That's the part I find strange. I'm going to assume that maybe they used the Gkids theatrical print shown at SLA but surely if 3.0+1.11 is better I could just wait for the Blu-ray? I'd like to see it theatrically but if it's a worse version then it seems like a lot of effort for a worse experience.
What I'd like to know is if they're showing 3.0+1.11 or 3.0+1.01, because 3.0+1.11 has some significant animation improvements. It's also what's being released on UK Blu-ray.
I'm keeping my hopes that First Slam Dunk will get more screenings as most of the tickets for the nearest screening are already sold out. Doing impressive numbers for a series that never really gets mentioned in discussions much.
Yeah the kids in Cucuruz Doan's Island (acronym is CDI lol) were very high pitched in their voices and annoying. It's a recurring thing I've noticed in quite a few 70s and 80s mech shows, almost like they're suppose to be a stand-in for the target audience a la Power Rangers.

I hope that Sand Land's screenings will have better sub QC compared to Suzume. The sign subs and some of the italicised dialogue had brackets which I found distracting, in addition to a lack of line breaks.
