Given that Gkids own the rights to Ghibli films in the US, maybe AL will distribute them? They already release Ghibli merch and LPs.

That's the part I find strange. I'm going to assume that maybe they used the Gkids theatrical print shown at SLA but surely if 3.0+1.11 is better I could just wait for the Blu-ray? I'd like to see it theatrically but if it's a worse version then it seems like a lot of effort for a worse experience.

What I'd like to know is if they're showing 3.0+1.11 or 3.0+1.01, because 3.0+1.11 has some significant animation improvements. It's also what's being released on UK Blu-ray.

I'm keeping my hopes that First Slam Dunk will get more screenings as most of the tickets for the nearest screening are already sold out. Doing impressive numbers for a series that never really gets mentioned in discussions much.

I saw Tunnel to Summer a week ago, found it pretty underwhelming tbh. Just another Your Name rip off without nothing interesting going on.

Yeah the kids in Cucuruz Doan's Island (acronym is CDI lol) were very high pitched in their voices and annoying. It's a recurring thing I've noticed in quite a few 70s and 80s mech shows, almost like they're suppose to be a stand-in for the target audience a la Power Rangers.

SDBD with two discs for a 12 ep series seems odd

I hope that Sand Land's screenings will have better sub QC compared to Suzume. The sign subs and some of the italicised dialogue had brackets which I found distracting, in addition to a lack of line breaks.

Suzume (2022) This is Shinkai’s seventh feature film and is his third studio production after finding mainstream success with Your Name (2016) and Weathering with You (2019). It is undoubtedly Shinkai's most thematically ambitious to date, being a full on exploration of the effects 3/11 (the...

Well, perhaps as a SDBD? I know the SD Gundam shorts from the 80s / 90s have a HD remaster which looks great. There's also the SD Gundam shows which are interesting, a few are streaming.

Reminds me that Gundam Evolve from Nozomi is now OOP, so AL won't be able to get that one.
