To the 'average consumer' the Gundam Unicorn Blu-rays are expensive; but lets not forget these are Japanese produced Blu-ray releases which have been localised for sale within America and Europe.
The DVD's on the other hand, which have been released by Bayview Entertainment (USA) & Madman...
Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)
I've seen the Destiny Limited Edition packaging and its pretty cool but either option 1 or 3 sounds perfect to me (i somehow can't imagine Andrew playing games xD).
In terms of Buccano Steelbook i'm not sure; i love steelbooks (and...
The picture isn't being displayed (but I've already seen the poster and taken a look at it).
Interestingly I've noticed a few things on the poster:
1) Goku's outfit has a strange 'marking' on the right-hand side of his outfit
2) Krillin has no hair
Blast of Tempest - Part 1 was originally due for release this Monday (17th November 2014) but it seems to have slipped back by 1 week.
Interestingly Dragon Ball - Collection 5 (or Season 5 if you prefer) was originally due out on the 8th December 2014 but has now been moved to the 24th November...
Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)
Jeremy technically works for Fetch Publicity, he just represents Manga UK in community channels etc - hence why he has to clarify things with Manga HQ before giving an answer to the public.
I think there are a fair few people who...
I remember Jerome during the Manchester MCM Panel say that it was going to be a 'very limited run' with only 6,000 copies being made after this no-more will be made; but this is in relation to the steelbook version.
They will remain available if copies still exisit, but once stock runs low you...
Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)
Would it seem arrogant/rude of me to assume that I was the one who discovered this news, since I did tweet the information and picture of the Instagram post before UKAnime posted the article -> originaltweet
Anyway that aside Jerome...
Since no-one has pointed it out the InuYasha - Movie Collection can be considered Region Free.
Disc boots up with "Region Locked" screen but if you press title menu / disc menu you'll be taken to the main menu whereby everything works perfectly fine (full access of menu, sub-menu, pop-up menu...
As it stands MangaUK only released a 'Steelbook' version of the film in the UK, which is also limited to 6,000 units.
The US release, which is supposedly identical in terms of quality and content as they used the same disc masters as the UK, is available in a standard Blu-ray case but I think...
I can only assume that the reason MangaUK author their own discs, instead of using Madman or FUNimation, is because of cost - or it could be a way of getting releases out sooner.
For instance since MangaUK decided to author their own discs releases have been 'a lot' closer to the US release...
According to people who received review discs the 'odd chapter markings' (which have plagued nearly all MangaUK releases as of late) remains... so if you want to skip the opening it will take you to about 3 minutes into the episode itself.
Could be a typo OR they are releasing it differently to the US release (i.e. spread out the episodes across more disc which results in more seasons).
OR MangaUK have the rights to the side-quest series (Capsule Monsters) ?!
I remember reading somewhere that Italian Sailor Moon DVDs had better picture quality than the US DVD (and potentially Blu-rays) and English Speaking Areas could not receive those assets due to 'some sort of licensing agreement/disbute' with TOEI.
Unfortunately I've lost the exact link =(
FUNimation is the UK licencee for Fairy Tail. While FUNi has both US and AU rights to Dragonball, Manga licensed Dragon Ball directly from Toei.
Dragon Ball (TV Series) is licensed from Toei but the film (Battle of Gods) is licensed from 20th Centry Fox; hence probably explains why the US...
