THIS IS A BIG ONE!
Kodansha USA have licensed 'I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day' by Nachi Aono
"A new dystopian Yuri series about a war, a mysterious orphanage, and the girls who live there, perfect for fans of Girls Last Tour and Otherside Picnic!"
Debut: February 2025
So this one was announced all the way back in November and I missed it because I apparently don't pay enough attention to Kodansha. A mutual on Twitter ended up mentioning it to me. My bad.
'Spoil Me Plzzz, Hinamori-san!' by tsuke
"Ichigo Hinamori has always looked up to her senpai Yaya Suou...
Honestly I am so so looking forward to hearing your opinions on the series. If vol 1 was enjoyable to you, just know that is actually widely regarded as the weakest volume in the series. Vol 2 and 5 (oh my god vol 5) are considered the high points by many. Vol 1 is mostly setup for vol 2.
A new yuri series seems to have been licensed by Tokyopop, 'Boys Who Interfere With Yuri Are Better Off Dead?!'. This series was previously known by the unofficial English title 'Boys Gilding the Lily Shall Die' if you want to look into it. As of now there is no official announcement on their...
Worth mentioning that the point at which you are actually charged customs fees is rather high. I can't remember the exact number but I regularly buy something that's in the region of £120 from the other side of the world and have never gotten charged. I think the limit before being charged is...
I've been baffled by their licensing decisions a few times in the past lol, although obviously not stuff with a huge controversy around it. A few months ago they chose to license a yuri series that had one volume, hadn't had new chapters for years, and had been effectively cancelled with no...
The illustrator who had their Twitter linked in the announcement post put out a tweet saying they were being overwhelmed and that had they known any of this stuff about the author they wouldn't have taken the job in the first place.
Wish people wouldn't do that, the likely freelance artist who...
I've read it before I just wanna get some more slightly older stuff on my shelf. It's frustrating that of the few pre-2010 yuri we have published in English, pretty much all of them aren't in print any longer.
A lot of out of print yuri manga is frustrating because it's actually pretty cheap...
Claire may or may not have spent a little more than usual on getting a classic out of print yuri manga in English shipped from the US. The omnibuses were the only realistic way, the pricing on the older (nicer) individual volumes was ridiculous when you took shipping all of them into account...
I meant in the sense that when Seven Seas announced the 'You've Got Mail' license last year it got a very similar reaction in comments (incientally Yiggybean mentioned in comments they won't be stocking that either). I don't know anything about pre-existing discussions elsewhere because I'm not...
Yeah, Yiggybean actually put out a statement yesterday saying they refuse to stock it. The vast majority of comments under the Seven Seas announcement appear to be negative, and the vast majority of ones on the Yiggybean thing are lauding them for their stance.
Seven Seas really need to think...
Viz Media have licensed 'Hana ni Arashi' under the English title 'Rainbows After Storms'. Cannot believe it took that long for this to get licensed, and I am slightly baffled it ended up being a Viz one.
