There's a note about on the collector's set for season 1 of Durarara to say that the discs will be the crap ones with subtitle issues.
I was thinking about getting it to house my standard edition discs, but paying £20 for cardboard and some art cards seems unwise.
You could buy Black Lagoon CE for £24.99 now, and then return the £41.99 order for a full refund when you receive it.
Your consumer rights allow you to return a product within 14 days for a full refund, you may have to pay postage costs though.
Annoyingly I already settled for the standard sets, perhaps would have gone for the CE if I knew it was only going to be £5 extra.
Ah well, you win some you lose some. You may as well buy the CE on offer and just cancel/return the more expensive copy.
I wasn't expecting them to drop the prices...
Good to know. With the expanded number of flash sale items compared to last year, they could well end up having to do a few repeats (if they're going down the line of higher-end/ultimate edition stuff in these specific sales).
I got a shipment notification too. I made my order about half hour before the sale officially started, so you could be onto something.
I mentioned elsewhere that Anime Limited are probably hoping the introduction of their £50 min spend for free shipping is going to help them with the Christmas...
I've been taking a look at what might be included in the flash sales. From the information we have, it seems that the flash sales will begin at 9:00 on each day and each product will last for 2 hours at their respective discounted price (as long as it remains in stock during that period)...
A big find for me this morning. I'm not sure how I missed these when browsing the site, but from the US Crunchyroll store I've ordered:
Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive Aria of a Starless Night - Blu-ray - Limited Edition
Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive Scherzo of Deep Night -...
That's disappointing. Although, £50 off £150 is ~33% off, so it's not super terrible at least compared to the 40% off for $250 spend on the US store.
Shame about the membership benefits not stacking though. Us Brits always getting shafted.
Edit: I've just seen that the membership benefit is...

A better option would be just to give it away as a 'free gift' if you spend over a certain amount.
Arrow and other distributors do this all the time with cheap releases that clearly haven't sold well.
That cost may be offset by the increase in sales overall, I'm guessing that's what they're hoping for anyway. I'm making an educated guess that AL sell more in the UK than they do in Ireland, just going by population numbers.
