Funny how browsing and curiosity have lead many up the garden path. Most of my collection was bought on the basis of 'what's that like'.
How many of you found anime at a young age (18 and younger)?
It seems to me that anime is also a thing that the older generations don't really care for (not...
Couldn't help it.
I'm like yourself. I started with C4 and the very occasional viewing on BBC2. After that I took the proactive approach once I actually knew what anime was. I'd have been around 16 when I actually bought anime for the first time (Gunsmith Cats on VHS). As for TV viewing IIRC...
Are you one for the old masters and the antiquated 'classics' or are you for the new and the daring?
Do you like anime that stick to tried and true tropes or go for something fresh and different?
I'm a fan of older anime and tend to like more traditional stories like comedy capers, a nice john...
Seems I got my wires crossed. You're right ayase, Animego are the ones behind Bubblegum Crisis.
Bubblegum Crisis Box Set DVD Remastered
Nozomi entertainment did Nadesico (inc BluRay). Below are some of their other titles (one of which will get some excited)...
It's sickening at times what the US have that we don't. Take Nozomi for example. They have license for remasters of Martian Successor Nadesico and Bubblegum Crisis OVA, two titles that were available here.
That reminds me of an observation. Why are sales of dvd's and other physical media only...
Funny. As I said I'm not keen on digital, but I've been looking into Crunchy Roll more now than I ever did and might just watch a few shows (and subscribe). I still wish for a download to own (and burn to dvd) service, but that would lead to other troubles :p :D
I was just about to say that Hellsing Ultimate was never finished over here. Episodes 5 through 8 were eventually released, but the final episodes never were. Regardless of how it comes we really need a complete release of Ultimate. It really is a lost gem.
Speaking of lost gems, what of titles...
All the lost ADV stuff. As for specific anime there are a few I'd like redone (not just re-released)
Blue Sonnett
Gunsmith Cats
Riding Bean
Cyber City Oedo
Bubblegum Crisis (OVA)
Tokyo Babylon
Fist of the North Star
All the Beez and Bandai/Sunrise anime
Those are the ones I can think of for...
They're all on disk. I got there very quick a long time ago. Have only bought about 5-6 new titles in the last 7-8 years. The rest (if you check their release dates) are pre 2010 and the most are pre 2005 (there being a near even split of pre and post millenium).
When I gained some independence...
My backlog is fatal.
All these are ones I'm watching or have yet to watch

Afro Samurai Resurrection
