In the last Newswire AL said that the standard edition of Mai Mai Miracle will be released in June 19th and that pre-order listings should appear shortly.
As of yet it hasn't been listed on Amazon/Zavvi/AoL, but there is a placeholder listing in Anime Limited's own store stating a £24.99 rrp...
Hi! I only recently started collecting anime again having stopped around 2010ish, so the majority of my collection are DVD's. All of my Blurays, with the exception of Madoka, have been acquired since the start of 2017.
(Isn't enough space in my drawers for these)
I've only just arrived back home from Uni so had a few different parcels to open .
Really pleased I managed to get the Blu-ray of 'A Letter to Momo' from Cex for £5, I used to check online multiple times a day just for this.
This is the second 'A Tree of Palme' I've bought, the first was from...
Well I can only talk for myself here, but all of my top 5 favourite anime are very 'mainstream' or 'casual' (Madoka Magica, Fate UBW, Re:Zero, Azumanga Daioh, Little Witch Academia) and enjoying the art style of Belladonna of Sadness doesn't suddenly make me an elitist snob who looks down on...
Hmm can't agree with you here I'm afraid, it's definitely highly stylised and will not be to everyone's tastes, but calling it 'crap' is a bit reductive. I personally love the style, which has been hugely influenced by western art, Art Nouveau specifically (namely Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt...
I've been looking forward to Belladonna of Sadness for absolutely ages, and I'm so excited that this release date seems to be the real one. The collectors edition looks lovely, especially the art cards and the amaray case. Only thing I'm slightly disappointed by is the slipcover art, it's not...
To be honest I was slightly concerned that it was a scam because it seemed too good to be true and was listed with stock photos and the seller hadn't sold anything for months (and it was from Spain so had to pay £5 for postage)
@anime_andrew Is there a possibility of you releasing Maria the Virgin Witch under your funimation label? Such a good show with a satisfying conclusion.
Also, when will Mai Mai miracle standard edition go up for pre-order?
Ahh okay I'd missed that news, kind of assumed that Studio Canal would still be handling European distribution given because of the film's connection to Ghibli.
It appears that Altitude films are based in London? (from what I can see on their site) so hopefully a British dub isn't too far-fetched.
I usually really like the Ghibli dubs, and given that this is set in England I would love it if Studio Canal made another separate British dub like they did with Arriety.
I wish they would release 5cm per Second on Bluray, I have all of Shinkai's other films on Bluray now apart from this :( Off the top of my head I know that Kazé released it on Bluray in Italy, so the original issue of ComixWave not allowing a UK Bluray release can't still be a problem.
Ooh would love this, even better would be if we got the complete Blu-ray collection to go with it in the near future (I also think that AL would make a much more beautiful edition compared to the NISA one)
Ahhh okay yeah I see what you mean, I'd assumed it would be like Mai Mai Miracle with the collectors edition being exclusive to backers, but reading it properly it's just the stickers/art cards that are exclusive.
I know this doesn't answer your question exactly, but with there being a standard retail edition I can't imagine there will be
"Will this release be available through retailers after the Kickstarter?
Yes - is the short answer! It will be available to buy via retailers after the Kickstarter run...
It doesn't really say :/ probably just merchandise like T-shirts, a Funko Pop, maybe a DVD/Blu-ray and a volume of a manga
Guessing the steel book tease is for the Mondo art steelbook?
