I have to admit that particular scene really stood out to me - but I think that's because I'd heard them discussing it on the Anime Ltd podcast and knew it was coming. I'm not 100% sure it worked - it felt a little out of place. But equally, I think the dub did a decent job of handling it, and...
Yup - really nice to see a packed screening for it yesterday. A great atmosphere to see it in! It ended up being the dub for me, which I actually thought was very well done indeed.
I wonder how quickly they'll be allowed to put a DVD / Blu-Ray of Your Name out? Guess it depends on whether the cinema run gets extended beyond just this week.
Yup - the generally cheap prices on LN's across the board is a godsend. The literary quality on the other hand is variable, to say the least.
The Re Zero ones are generally pretty well written though, thankfully.
Rumbling Hearts is fantastic - and sadly not really mentioned much these days. But I'd definitely recommend it to anyone In search of a more serious romance show.
Wasn't particularly aware of the studio though.
Pretty embarrassing for Manga - especially as YuGiOh is one of there better selling titles right now.
I mean, surely a check over the discs would prevent stuff like that happening? I mean, there could have been porn on that rogue disc or something and presumably no-one would have known.
Nice looking set, but I really can't imagine Manga bringing it out like that - they didn't for Beyond the Boundary after all. I feel like Akame Ga Kill was a test case, and personally I can't see them trying to emulate that here, especially as this set is even larger. Manga's bread and butter is...
Within everything in society today, there exists a segment that one could argue is 'uneducated' or perhaps more accurately 'not liberally aware' - ie. in possession of views others might see as backward or right-leaning.
Personally I kind of felt the 'too gay' or 'that's gay!' thing of using it...
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Studio Canal to find out what exactly happened with the Boy And The Beast - it definitely has to be one of the biggest release screw ups I can remember of late.
This goes very much down the line of 'gaming the system' so to speak - eg. the degree to which a relationship can be initiated with someone.
I suppose it depends how you look at it too - someone people really go into the whole 'charisma man' thing and there's even a whole industry of books /...
I thought it was just the second point? I didn't realise the Sentai / live action movie thing was still a thing? If it was, wouldn't that relate to Eva as a whole and not just the TV series?
I have to confess what you described really reminded me of a relationship I used to be in, that ended up being pretty horrid and ultimately destructive. Personally I think the 'basking in / muse' thing is a really bad mindset to have, as it ends up with you putting someone on an impossible...
Do you listen to Anathema? They're more contemporary prog in style as opposed to the 'classic' prog sound, but their album Weather Systems in particular is fantastic.
The only thing I really remember about Outbreak Company is that I found it relatively average and that the main girl has a really funny / weird voice in the English dub.
