    What Games Are You Playing?

Yup I'm struggling to find time to fit FF XV in too - got about 5 or so hours in on the first day and I'm still on chapter 3 or 4. The battle system is super satisfying though, so looking forward to more of it.

    community or ptooey?

I think we all feel like that at times though. And it comes back to whether we actively want things to change, and how we might go about that. It's about working on the things you feel good about, and using that as a stepping stone to build confidence - snowballing that into other aspects of...

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Yup - I don't exactly trust NEO much when it comes to impartiality. To be honest, the only reason I really still buy the magazine is just for something anime related to flick through monthly in a printed format. And Jonathan Clements' column - which is always excellent.

Man, 19 is so young to write off an aspect of life like that! If I could go back and be 19 again, I totally would! (to be fair though, I thought pretty similarly to you when I was 19) In kind of reply to that - you never know what the future might hold. The most important thing is to take it...

Gungrave just really reminds me of classic gangster movies like Goodfellas and Road to Perdition - I like how over the course of each episode you're literally seeing a man and his best friend grow older together - charting the course of a life. And 'Millennion' is such a ridiculous OTT name for...

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

That's weird as I thought the chess episode was probably the best one of the bunch. I have really mixed feelings about BBB. I think stylistically and production wise it's fantastic, and some of the action scenes are ridiculously well animated for a TV anime. But equally, I think narratively...

I dunno, I'd say there were a few pretty decent early 00s shows - some of my faves include: Maria Watches Over Us Gankutsuo Planetes GITS SAC Last Exile Full Metal Panic Gungrave Elfen Leid Wolf's Rain FLCL Fruits Basket Gundam SEED Rahxephon Rumbling Hearts

What Music are you listening to? Discussions Welcome!

When it comes to Pink Floyd, I'd definitely recommend the Division Bell album - I know a lot of people write it off as their final proper album, and pretty distinct from their earlier work, but I think it makes for a fascinating listen. It's a taste of what a 90s Pink Floyd would sound like...

    The General Conversation Area

This is the thing I was kind of getting at. If someone isn't even bothered to reciprocate with simple friendship, then they clearly aren't the right kind of person. I used to beat myself up so much about this, wondering why I could never become firmer friends with certain people I - as you put...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

Oh yeah, that first one definitely seems like an upscale - the quality looks much worse, even to just the naked eye.

Stick with it - Gungrave is definitely one of my favourite shows ever. It takes a bit to get a handle on it as the first episode doesn't really fit in with the rest of the show. But once you're around halfway through hopefully you should have more of a feel for what it's doing.

Although that 2.0 version also contains the option to view the original film on it too though, right? Or is it not as good quality as the remaster on the steelbook? I heard it was just an upscale, and not true 'HD' on the old 2.0 Blu-Ray.

I thought all of Manga's Funi licenses had expired (or were in the process of expiring soon?)

    [Overseas] Anime News & Announcements

Well I guess a Blu-Ray of that is a dead cert for Anime Ltd then. Still kinda confusing how it's ended up later than the main US set though - but maybe this plays into Anime Ltd's favour though so they can do a proper Haruhi Ultimate Edition of absolutely everything, and avoid another Eden of...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I guess Build Fighters would be a logical pick - personally I wouldn't be as psyched for that, even though I know people rave about it. I mean, Wing is an option too - that's more a matter of time than anything - and I'm sure Andrew as good as admitted they'd be getting round to it eventually...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

This Q4, or next Q4? I'd always presumed the original UC79 movie trilogy on Blu-Ray? (random question / does that have to be re-done by the BBFC, or do they just use the original rating from the first UK DVD release?)

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I guess so - but I'm not sure how much they can artificially inflate prices though - at the end of the day, with CR / Funi now a combined force, if they put the prices too high, they'll scare them off and end up with nothing. While they obviously want as much as possible, at the end of the day...

Upcoming UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Artwork

I still have the original SSC Blu-ray - haven't watched it in years though. I see they're doing a double pack of the original GITS + Innocence. I'd be tempted to grab that as I need Innocence on Blu-Ray - but I imagine they're just old transfers, and I'm not really keen to buy the original GITs...
