Looks like I dodged a bullet when i ordered mine. Came in just a jiffy envelope but had no damage. Probably a lucky fluke though so I'm not sure I'd risk it again. They should really start putting cardboard around art boxes like they do for the steel books.
I completely agree that Blu-ray is always the best option. I tend to stream first to decide whether I even want the Blu-ray though. The quality of streams has gotten pretty good, but obviously Blu-ray is uncompressed, so it's always gonna win.
Especially when we consider that as of yet there is no US license. I know we sometimes get things regardless of that, but Re:Zero does not seem like something Anime Ltd would release until a dub is available.
You're not the only one completely gobsmacked by that train of logic. If it says 18 on the packaging then that means the kids wouldn't be able to buy it themselves anyway. At some point it should become the parents' responsibility, not be taken out on the consumer.
I imported the US version of...
Yes, I am from the UK, and I'm not entirely sure what would lead you to believe I am not. I just happen to despise censorship (ruling out anything that actively harmed someone in its production), and while the major players submit voluntarily to the BBFC, the current biggest online providor for...
I really wish things could be sold here without mandatory ratings. I know there hasn't been much anime censored by them in recent years, but it's still annoying. It unfairly discriminates against smaller companies too, since the fees they charge are mere pennies to a big distributer, but pretty...
I did say I've preordered it regardless. :D I'm a little intrigued as to what a movie CE with that SRP will look like. Now that you've mentioned "cool stuff", I don't think I could bring myself to go for the standard box. :D
I've personally never considered Crunchyroll HD streams to look bad by any measure. I watch everything on a big television and never had any issues with quality. Maybe I am less discerning than some though. If there is a difference in quality, I certainly don't think it would be perceivable on...
Yeah that is the main problem when trying to point to the legal source. Many people will use something like Kiss exclusively and then when you mention the legitimate alternative they will usually say something along the lines of "why would I do that when I can get it for free". There's not a lot...
Oh yes, that too. Since they started releasing them in English, I have been buying and reading the LOTGH novels religiously. :-D The only case I've found in which buying merch and derivative work to support an unlicensed show doesn't work out is with most really old shows, since there sometimes...
For me personally, I would admit that is the one situation where fansubs serve their purpose. If something hasn't been licensed and has no hope of being licensed then there is no method for me to get money to the right places anyway. Of course I could buy the Japanese copies and find subs...
Yeah, the main reason I posted about this (besides it being stupid) is that I've heard basically all of the points in that post echoed by others before. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around why to them Crunchyroll is the devil because only a small amount of money goes back to Japan...
