Although I personally like Fate/Stay Night (the VN and the ufotable anime at least), I do think Zero is definitely the best thing to come out of the franchise. I'm in a situation where I really wish they would stop milking Fate and give Tsukihime some love though. I think it had a far superior...

Did you even watch the AMV I posted? :D Say what you like about it, but it's probably the single most creative ecchi scene I've ever witnessed in an anime. I was majorly concerned when Nisemonogatari was being rated for a UK release that the BBFC might not take too kindly to the toothbrush...

This is the only AMV. The only one you ever need.

At last, somebody that appreciates true art! :D You can hold any controvertial opinion you like, you lovable scamp. You can badmouth anything else I love, because that one line has just secured you my undying good will. Come give me a hug. We're having a moment.

I wanna stir something up now. Golden Boy is the best anime of the 90s. :D

I haven't seen Keijo!!!!!!!! either, but from what a friend who has seen it tells me, it's played straight. As in, it models itself after proper sports anime. :D I don't know how true that is, since the clips I've seen in passing on Facebook look truly ludicrous, and I can't imagine a world...

I'm still holding out for AL to do a fancy edition of it. A nice Blu-ray edition that makes use of some of the show's gorgeous art would be ideal. It's the best thing that came out of 'Anime no Chikara'.

That entire genre (subgenre?) just fascinates me, not because I think any of them are overly brilliant (except Sora no woto), but because I am genuinely curious to see what thing they'll have them doing next. So far we've had cute girls in a band, driving tanks, in a motorcycle club, in a battle...

I forgot about that one. That was a really choice head tilt.

I feel like you just insulted my child or something. :D It's a special child, it's just misunderstood. My undying love for Akiyuki Shinbo is being called into question. Did you even think of the head tilts when you wrote this? :D

I feel like the only shots that could possibly be taken at Redline would have to be for its story, but that would be kind of missing the point of Redline. :D It wasn't made to be a literary masterpiece, it was made to look really pretty, and it does. Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.
  12. Lord Bacchus

    Your controversial anime opinions.

It's not so much that the art style is similar, it's just that everything is ridiculously fluid (maybe not quite on the level of Redline, but nothing can be on the level of Redline). I recall being incredibly impressed that they got such good animation quality on a TV anime budget, since it was...

As much as I dislike the current government, I can't see a snap election going well for Labour in the current climate. Corbyn could have a cure for cancer and dispense free money, and he'd probably still be roasted by the tabloids for having a scruffy beard :D (not saying that's right, but the...

My opinion on FMA: Brotherhood is that it's a very well done shonen action show. My issue with that genre (demographic?) of show is normally that the characters are usually just a big bag of cliches. Brotherhood avoids this for the most part, and the characters are quite easy to empathise with...

I hadn't ever given the live action Death Note much thought since live action adaptations are almost always worse. If it does have a better ending though, I think I will try to get around to watching it. The anime just felt so forced after episode 25, almost like it was intended to end there...

I also hate this. It seems every other week there's some information leak/suspicious activity. I hate it more when companies demand that you put numbers, upper case letters, and unique characters into a password though. I have several very long passwords I use at a lot of places which don't...

Wasn't Kemono Friends the most popular anime in Japan last season? The Japanese fandom sometimes favours some real off-kilter stuff, and I love that. Since whenever there is a new Monogatari series in Japan it immediately goes to the top of the charts, I have to agree with your assessment, the...

One more for now. Despite what the long lived meme insists, the Tsukihime anime does in fact exist, and we are all just going to have to accept this knowledge at some point (and hope that the kind people at ufotable eventually make an anime that's worthy).

While I myself prefer Ultimate, I did not think the series was horrible by any means. The music in the series was also top notch, especially the opening.
