anyone noticed how the X covers seem to be out of synch with the actual series? That cover for #4 is best suited to #3, as is the synopsis on the back and the screenshots.
I haven't seen the TV series, but you can't go wrong with the movies. Movie 2 is probably the best, but annoyingly it isn't available over here so you have to import from the US. Expect to pay over £20 for a used copy. Anime-On-Line are selling most of the other movies for 99p...
It might be six volumes though: Anime-On_line has it listed as 100mins running time so that means 4 episodes on volume 1 (http://www.anime-on-line.com/xcart/prod ... t=0&page=1). There are 24 episodes in the series, so it may follow something like X TV Series which has 24 episodes over 6 single...
the best thing you can do when watching When They Cry is to come at it completely fresh - if you are thinking of importing it, don't read anything about it, its so much better if you aren't spoiled before watching it. It makes all the darker bits that much more surprising...
Weird! I liked the opening episode, it really set the mystery tone, but didn't really like the first arc. The second arc, Massacre Chapter, is excellent though!
Bargain: xxxHolic Season 1 Parts 1&2, £9.99 each in Forbidden Planet Covent Garden store! Can most defs be bought for cheaper online, but its nice to actually go in a shop sometime and interact with someone.
All I'm saying is that it seems a bit of a waste. Film4 is supposed to be a diverse channel that plays as much arthouse as it does hollywood, its the perfect existing channel to get behind anime. Its great that they show Ghibli, but it would be nice if they branched out into other anime titles...
