Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Part 2 Review

The second part of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is a rollercoaster ride into hell, filled with intense action sequences and tender moments with its strong, tight-knit cast of characters. While it may lack the finesse of the first part’s drama and plot development, this is overall one...

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid – The Complete Series Review

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a slice-of-life comedy that is both very funny and very relaxing to watch. These types of shows don’t come up very often these days, so if you’ve been craving something like it, then it’ll definitely scratch that itch. Continue reading...

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Part 1 Review

While this first half of Iron-Blooded Orphans does have its flaws, Mari Okada and Tatsuyuki Nagai's unique and distinct take on the Gundam franchise emerges as extremely dark, profusely political, and brutally bloody. Continue reading...

    Mysteria Friends Review

While being connected to the Rage of Bahamut mobile game presents a barrier to entry, and its very slow, methodical pace may bore some viewers, Mysteria Friends is a beautiful slice-of-life series with a surprisingly wholesome yet playful take on the yuri genre. Continue reading...

Nine Ways To Buy Manga and Light Novels Legally in the UK

Normally I'd usually go to Travelling Man as the Newcastle branch has a large selection and I'm always up for supporting independent stores. In these times of 'vid however been using Waterstones a lot more - seem to have had more stock available than Wordery recently.

Anime retailers No Import Fees List

I don't have any experience with the website but they turn up to conventions a lot, mostly selling art books and magazines. They are legit at least if you're considering it.

Rate the last anime you watched out of 10

Yeah that's fair. I think in general Gundam struggles with creating convincing lead protagonists. They're usually either stoic emotionless heroes or utter brats. While I found Judau's "adults suck" attitude tiresome after a while, I would say he's better than Kamille, who I felt was billed as...

Rate the last anime you watched out of 10

Finished Gundam ZZ last night. The silly first half is pretty terrible and the Moon Moon stuff is just downright weird and turns the show into a bad knock off of Scooby Doo. There's definitely some good bits in there in the second half that do elevate it a bit for me and the final few episodes...

Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl – The Complete Series Review

While difficult to get into with its initial weird sci-fi premise, Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl emerges as a heartfelt and funny slice-of-life series that really cares for its cast of characters, tackling some sensitive issues really well. Continue reading...

Love Live! Sunshine!! Season 2 Review

S1 did come with a booklet yes. The US release got it so it's weird that we didn't.

Welcome to the Ballroom: Part 2 Review

This second part of Welcome to the Ballroom gives a satisfying conclusion to this arc of Tatara’s story, and despite some faults with its pacing and brand of humour, delivers an exciting showcase of the spectacle of competitive ballroom dancing. Continue reading...

The Misfit of Demon King Academy Volume 1 Review

The first volume of The Misfit of Demon King Academy is very much an introduction setting up the characters and the world around them. There’s nothing particularly special or gripping about it so far, but the class divide between the demons gives it something to differentiate it from other...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

This is a good point and certainly true in my case. I subbed literally just for Violet Evergarden, but I've ended up keeping it going because there's western stuff on there that I've discovered and have found I want to watch. In general though, I'd feel better about it if there was an actual...

Fire Force Season 1 Part 1 Review

Fire Force is a pretty decent shonen action show that has some really great moments when it touches upon the danger and heroics of being a firefighter. However, it is spoiled by the overuse of foreshadowing and unnecessary fanservice. Continue reading...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

The spines sure make their brand stand out, but I definitely think they should be more subtle. There's a method of marking "yep, this is ours" without conflicting with the product itself. A small watermark like logo above the product code would be enough, similar to how the Funi/Crunchy releases...
