What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

@RedundantSquash That's sad to hear your favourite store is closing. Sadly there's nowhere like that in Newcastle where I live. We have an independent record store but nowhere that's not a large chain for other kinds of physical media like Blu ray or games. I just got back from the Tyneside...

It's incredibly annoying that the UK One Piece sets miss out some of the HD episodes because of that. I wonder why that happened exactly. 6 volumes seems a lot to miss out. That's a lot of episodes! A while back I thought maybe I'd replace the ones I had already bought with the UK sets for...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Yeah I agree with this. It does seem they're biting off more than they can chew. They'd get far more of my money if they'd release more retro shows as well but alas we seem to get only a handful of pre 2000's anime every few years and meanwhile the US has stuff that's not even on disc in Japan...

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

I don't think the D movie is too bad on this front either. Hideyuki Kikuchi's novels definitely have their fair share of eyebrow raising moments and as you say Wicked City in both the novel and Anime is definitely a lot more off-putting for today's audiences. It's probably a lot to do with...

    The Gundam Thread

Minutes after posting that did occur to me. I'd previously liked the post about the lanyard and somehow missed that could have been the reason they were wearing the gloves. Nice that they have a way to feel comfortable at the con while also helping with promotion and having fun. I'm such a...

    The Gundam Thread

MCM Expo looked like a lot of fun. Why does the Machu cosplayer promoting Gundam need gloves to complete the costume though? couldn't they just....you know....use their real hands? :) Interesting trivia about the origin of the name of the show. Thanks @zappi

Have never played these two but every other Shin Megami Tensei game I've played has been excellent. I hope we get more re-releases of the older ones like we did with SMT III Nocturne and the upcoming Devil Summoner remasters.

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

@HellCat and @Scavenger Damn. I was hoping Anime Ltd would change their mind on that after seeing some of the feedback on here and elsewhere. Yeah I knew that typically it's not exactly easy to get in other territories as well but I can't help but be a little disappointed. Guess I might have to...

@Spark_Heal The original novel is available in English via the Vampire Hunter D omnibus Vol 1 from Dark Horse (contains 3 novels. The third one in that collection is the one bloodlust is based on). It seems to still be in print as the omnibus releases are still ongoing and places online still...

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Just got Panzer World Galient on blu ray from sentai. A title I'm really pleased to own. Love Ryosuke Takahashi's mecha shows. I have a special attachment to this one because @Orgun and I reviewed it for the 2nd episide of Retro Mecha Podcast. When we reviewed it in 2018 it had only ever been...

    The *Im looking for* thread.

Probably a long shot since some of these are very sought after out of print titles but might as well give it a try. I'm after the following region A Blu ray releases. Discotek:- Cat's Eye: complete first season Cat's Eye: complete second season Dancouga: Super Beast Machine God Urusei...

Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

It's fine for me to import Region A as I've got a multi region player. Thanks for the heads up @sniper_samurai and @Magical Senshi I take it the Funimation subs are decent overall then? No glaring issues anyone has noticed?

What manga are you reading now?

Currently re-reading Maison Ikkoku. Incredibly nostalgic considering I first lent it from a dear friend who isn't even with us anymore. That was just over twenty years ago. Picked up my own copies when Viz re-released it a few years back and hadn't gotten round to the whole thing. Decided it was...

Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

So I guess the current season one releases out there (Including the recent steelbooks) must use the Funimation subs? What's the consensus on them? Are they decent?

Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

This is more of a query about potentially disappointing discs rather than pointing out flaws, but it's kind of on topic so here goes. What's the subtitle quality like on the more recent releases of Attack On Titan? I don't currently own any of the series on Blu but I remember the first release...

Will spend some time getting it a bit more in order and then I will. :D

Post a photo of your entire anime collection!

Thanks Herano. Wow. Nice collection. I wish I had enough space in one room to line everything up in a row like that with my discs. I see a lot of Region 1 DVD sets I've not seen in a long time in those photos! Ah...the sweet tang of nostalgia.

Post a photo of your entire anime collection!

I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, however I just wanted to say I've been viewing it this week and it's inspired me quite a bit. I've been meaning to sort my own collection out a little more and get it arranged nicely to the point where I feel proud enough to show it off here...

The Lazarus simulcast is dub-only on Channel 4

Hello everyone. It's been a while. As Sarah said it's kind of odd that this ended up on All 4 of all places. I mean Watanabe's such a well known director, he's about as mainstream as Anime creators get. I'd expect all the major platforms would have been looking to get their hands on it. Demelza...

I really wish it had been a regular CE as well. Sick of these giant irregular boxes. While it's annoying that they don't fit on the shelf it's far worse that the discs don't have a standard case. Really dislike the "discs in a book" method or worse yet the stupid spindle things like in the Eva...
