It might be a more faithful adaptation that's intended as a prequel to Sigma. The original manga added some side stories that don't really have much relevance to the plot.

Katawa Shoujo is a cookie cutter coming-of-age romcom with bad art and slightly above average music. It's nothing to take particular notice of, other than the fact it's a OELVN that started on 4chan.

That is the equivalent of calling a video game good because of the graphics. I didn't even think it looked that remarkable. The art was pretty bland and the overuse of special effects killed everything else.

I tried Kara no Shoujo but it seems to suffer from poor decision making that requires guessing rather than intuition. I don't see anything wrong with slapstick fantasy stuff. Sure as hell beats Moe Moe Pantsu Flash High School type stuff.
