Channel 4 seem to have love for all things Japanese. They are showing the original Grudge (Ju-on The Curse) Friday 14th 1.10am seems like Zaoitchi worked for them (different genre I know).
Rockworld will also run an anime marathon of Divergence Eve and DNAngel on the 27th of December...
I'd must admit after watching a few sub episodes of FMA, I much perfer the English dub.
The Spirited Away dub ain't all that bad either. Isn't there some area's of the Spirited Away dub which improve upon the Japanese dub like more background chatter etc.
Funny you should mention January after the 31st of December there is no listings for the Anime Network.
Of course this might be nothing, digiguide only update to a certain point each month but most channels have their time tables into mid-Febuary.
More than likely, I don't know if they have shut down their site could be just fixing it up though.
I think it's taken a hit from animecentral and with no advertisement revenue it won't be able to finacially compete with animecentral either.
I'm a bit indifferent to subs, don't get me wrong I watch a lot of foreign live action films I couldn't watch them being dubbed over. If it's in French leave it in French as I say and so on.
However in the world of animation it's all a bit different, I think you can get away with it. I don't...
Note that the first 4 films are on Channel 4 not filmfour.
I have just found out that filmfour will be showing
My Neighbour Totoro 16th 14.55 and 21st December 16.45.
Kiki's Delivery Service 26th 15.10 and 30th December 13.00.
I'm not sure but Lupin might be in Japanese with subs...
You must be thinking of John Candy.
Not really looking foward to the Speed Racer movie. More interested in the upcoming adaption of Monster here's hoping David Cronenberg chooses to direct it!
Wait till the second series of Dexter (don't want to spoil it) starts then you will start seeing more similarities with Death Note.
Including a dectective whose surname begins with L.
Does anyone watch F/X's Dexter?
Have you noticed how similar it is to Death Note (well character wise) both main characters are anti-heroes/vigilantes with a similar goal but in achieving that goal they enter moral gray area.
Both shows also have anti-villians, both with similar causes but...
ADV may have struck an agreement with another channel. From what I can gather from the two statements that ADV will continue to air anime in the UK but perhaps through specialist channels like AnimeCentral, Animax or any other 3rd party.
The ratings for Animecentral have been good, not...
The UK and America are not joined on at the hip, this really annoys me!
I'd like to see UK look outside the US for once. If someone had the balls to put this on, I could see this gain a cult following. The Hollywood adaption will get this anime series licensed it's really only a matter of...
It doesn't have to be licensed to air on UK tv, it would depend on the channel going directly to the Japanese distribution wing and negotiating a deal.
I don't really care if it's dubbed or not, Spiral and Matrioski were subtitled, I think fans of these shows could take it. I really think...
I'm really suprised no big channels are'nt sniffing about Monster.
I think FX or BBC4 should pick it up, both have experimented with foreign television such as Spiral and Matrioski, if they can pick up stuff from France/Belgium why not Japan?
I don't really want it to be on animecentral...
