    Escaflowne?

It was one of the earlier series I sought out when I was just getting into anime (along with the likes of Eva, Bebop, Trigun, Nadesico etc.), and I found it to be quite dull. It has its good moments especially around episodes 18-22 where I think it takes off a bit, then settles back into...

looks like rapture tv have cancelled anime-nation

Mezzo DSA was a filler series, nothing much going on there just light stuff to pass the time. Excel Saga though shouldn't be underestimated (and the dub is great btw  ). Uderneath all the madcap craziness is a show that's been cleverly constructed and hugely varied (but it benefits from...

ghost in the shell: japanese or english dub

If we're talking about Stand Alone Complex, then definitely the dub. Motoko sounds great in it, a mix of youngish and oldish authority. It's one of the most professional and convincing dubs around.

    Best Anime Soundtrack

Again too many to choose from to make out a best one, but I'll give an honourable mention to Heat Guy J's OST, it's one of the top ones.

    Review: Heat Guy J #3

Now finished the series. It's top top stuff when viewed as a whole.

    Black Cat

Still don't think its a good idea to shoehorn 20 volumes worth of stuff into 23 episodes. Obviously there's loads and loads of stuff they've missed out or changed. Black Cat was actually scheduled for 52 episodes at first, but I'm guessing they ran out of budget or television ratings if they...

    Black Cat

There's also the fact that the manga is huge, 20 volumes long, and they've only made 23 episodes. They've changed loads of stuff, and rushed the ending. A shame, as if it followed the manga closely you'd be looking at at least 50-100 episodes.

    Black Cat

Only seen 6 episodes and thought it was below average. Sorry... The old cliche, the manga is much better. I'll probably eventually get around to seeing the whole series though.

    Transformers Movie new trailer

Its mostly new to me. My only memory of Transformers growing up was the 'Transformers: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE!' adverts on tv for the toy models. I never was never aware of the cartoons or read the comics . Maybe it was slightly before my time (is 20 yrs old) or other stuff was what I watched...

    Review: Heat Guy J #3

I've seen up to episode 18 at this point, and really enjoyed it until it hit a lull for a few episodes, then went back up. The story has changed quite a bit (the structure of events in Judo etc.) and I'm predicting a strong finish. Soundtrack's one of the most memorable too, and it also has...

Sergeant Frog (Keroro Gunso) picked up by ADV Films

It's quite a big coup for ADV, this series is pretty big in Japan, and its so hilarious as well from the few episodes I've seen. It looks like they're going for another Excel Saga like show.

    Recomendation request... again

From what I've seen of it (first 4 eps), Monster's pretty good.

    Excel saga!

I too saw the original run on the SCI-FI channel andi it's the funniest anime I've seen. But it also packs a lot of variety in storylines, character types, in jokes, anime parodies and recurring themes etc. It's cleverly constructed even though it seems so random.

It's question time again folks. :)

That's a bit too extreme, it's certainly darker and more serious, but there is humour there, and I remember chuckling at a few scenes, especially the bits where the characters are getting back together, some of the new guys on Nadesico B, and a certain part of the ending is done humourously...

It's question time again folks. :)

    1) A lot of people seem to dislike it but I quite enjoyed the film, I'd give it a 4/5. It's let down by the way it ends, Deus Ex like and very quickly, when the film could have been slightly longer and a bit more in depth. Without giving any spoliers, the movie leaves things open, even though...
