I also wouldn't see that saving much money - the cost involved would presumably be more to do with the licensing +/- subtitling than with putting it on disc.
It's more of a case of just having resigned myself to it rather than anything else!
I'm not sure if the issue is with licensors or licensees (or maybe the feeling that adding extras will increase expenditure without increasing sales?), but it seems like there isn't a culture of contextual or...
It's hard to say- I'd always put quality over quantity so if the extra pages were unnecessary and Clements is happy with his final draft then I don't really have an issue over it. If it was a case of 'please cut 50 pages as we're cutting the budget' then that's a different issue, but we'll...
I got my UB820 a year ago, and with the caveat that I've never felt the need or had the ability to do direct comparisons with another player, it is excellent and was certainly the best model on the market when I did my research back then. It has both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ capabilities and the...
I got a pre-modded UB820 and haven't had any issues, though the main reason I got it in the first place was to consolidate my separate 4K UHD and multiregion Blu-Ray players. TPS included a 3 year warranty as well.
Interesting, I'll probably go and see that. Never did manage to see the stage adaptation of Princess Mononoke that was on years back (or, indeed, the stage adaptation of Spirited Away but I think that's only been put on in Tokyo so far)
The Foundling Museum in London has an exhibition on Superheroes, Orphans & Origins: 125 Years in Comics that features some artwork from Taiyo Matsumoto.
Picked this up for some airport reading; it's a strange, but largely fascinating. The main character is one from a tradition of juvenile delinquents that would be depicted in Japanese culture in the 60s in the Japanese New Wave and the punishment inflicted upon him is essentially a blend of...
For the past couple of years I've always used a reshipper (Stackry) for buying US titles. Initially it was to get from sites that didn't ship internationally like Kino or Criterion but it can also work out quite nicely for those that do if buying a decent number of titles.
I'm sure Arrow will upgrade the Vengeance Trilogy before too long - they've already upgraded Oldboy and the other two got UHD releases in Germany not too long ago. I think the chances are slim for the others and practically zero for those that were released after they already started putting out...
He's one of the most interesting actors working and has given great performances for Claire Denis, David Cronenberg, Chris Nolan, the Safdie Brothers, and Robert Eggers.
I see that GKIDS have announced they're releasing a new restoration of Takahata and Miyazaki's Panda! Go, Panda! I wouldn't be surprised to see AL pick it up, since they're doing Future Boy Conan as well.
I can't say I'm a huge fan of Panda, Go Panda! - while it's undoubtedly a beta (or alpha)...
Interested in what live action films they'll release - Japanese "genre" films are already well catered for by boutique labels. They would seem like a label well positioned to release Mamoru Oshii and Hideaki Anno's live action films, which I'd be interested in.
Other than that there's not much...
Is there a good place to buy classic anime posters? I quite like the look of the original posters for the Mobile Suit Gundam trilogy and fancy having them framed and on a wall
