The absolute priority should be the original Japanese audio track and not the 'Sound Renewal' redub that's on the US disc. The old DVD also has a documentary that hasn't made an appearance since
It hasn't had a UK release in over 16 years so, whatever the sales figures then were, I'm not sure how relevant they are to the current landscape. I've been pretty vocal in asking for it (and the rest of Oshii's films) to get a new UK release so hopefully we're moving in that direction - and...
Should we read anything into Patlabor: The Movie being shown as part of Scotland Loves Anime? Because I want to :p It'll the second UK showing this year after the BFI's anime season.
I cannot think of any other home video label that has ever been seemingly unaware with a delay to its own product until the actual release date, let alone with such regularity that it has become a running joke. I can't even think of a reasonable excuse for it at this stage. I think everyone here...
Sorry, I still don't know what you mean.
Anyway, the original film materials for 0080 War in the Pocket were scanned in 4K resolution. The resulting restoration has since been released on Blu-Ray in 1080p in Japan and the US. Like Future Boy Conan.
It is the only one of the series to be restored in 4K, so I wonder if there are some behind-the-scenes negotiations going on to release it on 4K UHD? That's my wishful thinking....but it's more likely we'll just get a port of the Right Stuf discs
We don't yet, the official announcement will come on Friday I think. I have the Arbelos release too so I'll be very surprised if Eureka add anything to make me double dip but this is good news for Region B-locked collectors.
Oh, it's total rubbish but that's just the nature of the game unfortunately. If they set a precedent where they'd replace a rubbish old release for a new restored one there'd probably not be any financial incentive for them to do so again.
Wait, so is the one Sentai is selling different from this? Either way, I'm still not sold that the shipping price shouldn't have much less of an impact when they're bulk buying them. Hopefully AL are planning their own localised release that's a bit more reasonably priced.
I don't think anyone...
What a ridiculous price Sentai are charging though - $130! I know Japanese releases are pricey, but the Amazon Japan price converts to £67. Which is a price I'd maybe consider. But I'm not sure there's any single film I'd be willing to pay the equivalent of £110 for.
I'm surprised that it has taken so long for them to become available, considering the cult popularity of House. I hope that the set will be offered at a lower price between now and release date. I'll be surprised if it isn't. I absolutely adore His Motorbike, Her Island though; it's a romance...
