Got Crunchyroll’s Sound Euphonium S1 through today.
As well as the new English dub, it seems to fix all the issues with AL’s release. The transfer is a good one with no glaring banding issues, and the subtitles work, doing simultaneous dialogue and screen text as they should.
Just to add, I quickly popped over there to place an order or two before the P&P occurs, and I was just about to check out when I realised that all three titles that I want to pre-order cost over £30 each anyway! I'll just wait for the next deal of the week that I really want and bundle it.
I'd still buy DVD if it was the better option. Some NTSC DVDs are encoded progressively, and Blu-ray players can play them back at 24p. But, 24p SD on a Blu-ray disc isn't an option, they have to be encoded as interlaced. Some Aniplex DVDs look as good as Blu-ray given the bit rates they used to...
With the book burners in power in the US, the definition of acceptable printed material is loopy. You'll probably have a hard time ordering The Diary of Anne Frank from there.
DHL told me that they would deliver my package on Saturday, and they provided a link to see how far away the van was. All Saturday it was parked 5 stops away at the DHL depot in Docklands, and it never moved. Today I got an e-mail from DHL telling it would be delivered today... and the link...
So I'm rewatching my Nana DVD imported from Region 4, and two episodes into disc 4, I get a weird feeling picking the disc out of the player. I take a closer look, and a square of plastic has been lifted off the centre of the hub. Forget disc delamination, this disc is literally falling apart...
My last Day 7 order was dispatched today, and a couple hours later I learns that it's DHL who are delivering it, so it looks like I'll have gotten all four of my AL orders this year, before Christmas (touch wood).
Is free international shipping a thing now through Amazon UK? I placed an order for the US release of Is The Devil a Part-Timer, which is sent via Amazon.com through Amazon.co.uk, and there’s free shipping as a special offer, about £7.50 waived.
That's the German release. Some Crunchyroll discs are pressed for multi-national release, this looks like one of them. I'd expect the physical discs have the UK ratings logo on them, but the packaging is for the German market.
Mostly movies for this top-up of the Last Chance, And it looks like they aren't really that much discounted. Certainly I got Birthday Wonderland CE last year for £5, similar kind of price for Dragon Dentist.
EDIT: I recall importing the Australian Mirai over the UK release for two-hours plus of...
I just got a despatch notification for my Day 1 first order consisting of 12 items. In the meantime I have received two subsequent AL sale orders with fewer items in each. If that means anything to anyone.
I was tempted by March Comes In Like a Lie In April (both of them), and Gun Gale Online, but I just didn't like them enough. March would have been better if we'd have gotten the rest of the series...
So here's a thing, a year or two ago, I got Full Metal Panic IV standard in one of these...
