It's not so bad for half the shows they license, but better animated works like DanMachi or Oshi no Ko really stand out for the amount of banding and artifacting in the videos. I'm not really someone who particularly notices that a lot of the time compared to other members of this forum, but...
I think this still stands as one of the series I found the most difficult to collect when the single releases were ongoing (maybe only surpassed by March Comes In Like a Lion currently) because of the stupid way Dark Horse handled it.
Although I gave up and picked up JP copies of the sequel...
As much as I'd much rather HIDIVE succeed, I'm certainly happy to see CR take on Oshi no Ko so that we get some halfway decent streams. HIDIVE have one of the worst video qualities of any of the anime streamers atm. DanMachi next please.

For what it's worth they may be rolling them back. Yesterday a couple of shows debuted with the new subtitles and then were updated to go back to the old format (after everything outside of sequels had been debuting with the new format), so it'll be interesting to see what this week brings.
Well I think that's why they did the mini anime in the end. The extended media (LNs, anthology manga, etc) have all leaned into that too which allows the anime to keep it tight pacing. Be interesting to see how they balance it for the next season.

There really were a lot of great shows this season. I think my favourite ended up being My Dress-Up Darling, but The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity is a close runner-up.
Takopi's Original Sin, The Summer Hikaru Died and Ruri Rocks deserve shoutouts too. And The Water Magician, for being a...
Generally speaking, Season 2 of Shield Hero felt rushed and overall not as good as the first season. It did improve again for 3 onwards tho and clearly it must still be pulling in the numbers for Crunchyroll etc (they were the ones to commission season 2 and 3 together at the time).

I (controversially it seems from reading comments around the web!), really enjoyed the film. It looked and sounded amazing, the voice cast all did an absolutely incredible job and it more or less covered what I expected it to.
I don't disagree with the general opinion that the flashbacks and...
