FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: The greatest story ever told. Re-told.

Meh, if the current Funimation streaming quality is anything to go by, I'm not surprised people aren't waiting. The official streaming seems free anyway so I don't see how Funimation are making money. If I were still watching fansubs and doing all that though, I'd at least open the official...

Barbican Japanimation pays homage to Gonzo

Well they just got taken off the Tokyo Stock Exchange, they've given up their gaming division, they've cut their anime output by like 70% and their co-founder/producer of most of their anime has just left to start his own business. So, as good as dead. But they're not really.

Haruhi Light Novels to get english release.

It's only officially released in the US/Canada I thought, at least I'm pretty sure there are only prices in Dollars on the back...

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: The greatest story ever told. Re-told.

Ah yeah I just tried with Firefox and it works fine, I'm having deja vu so I think I had this problem and resolved it some time ago, haha. The quality isn't that great though to be honest, although it's being upscaled to 1060p on my 22" screen : /

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: The greatest story ever told. Re-told.

Oh? I just tried to view a ton of videos and they were all blank except for the trailers. A while ago I was able to view an episode of Aquarion though, so maybe it's my computer or something... I think it's kind of pathetic if the UK doesn't get any kind of simultaneous screening.

Calling all Japan/anime fans! new store arriving soon?

You should do it quick if you're going to, because they probably won't be around for much longer. They're located in the Trocadero (Picadilly Circus), which is going to be developed into a hotel in time for the 2012 games, so the bottom part of the Trocadero may or may not be completely...

Calling all Japan/anime fans! new store arriving soon?

What about the location? This interests me, definately. Somewhere in central London would be nice : p There's already the Japan Centre that sells more or less anything you could want, and Yo-sushi, and TokyoToys so a lot of stuff is already catered for. One thing I'd be interested in...

    Questions about play.com

My only (quite major) gripe with them in the quality of their packaging and how they store their products. The amount of times I've received (albeit slightly most of the time) damaged goods is quite stupid.

Where do these rumours originate from?

Tales from Earthsea to get Film4 showing

Spirited Away was on BBC4 very very recently as well, part of the Japan season.

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

The price a retailer sets is not the issue, it's just how much stock the retailer buys from the wholesaler, sales could be a good thing if they increase the amount of units bought by a retailer.

    German Pocky hits the uk?

I have to admit, I'm not a great fan of Pocky either, it's fun to look at though =) Melonpan is my cup of tea!

Evangelion: R1 Art Box - Who wants it?

Sounds like a great idea actually, this is the original (non-platinum) version right? I have all the UK singles without a box and I saw the box many years ago in America and thought how sexy it was.

    Customs-friendly places

Robert's Anime Corner Store will mark things down for you if you ask them to. I've ordered **** loads of rare stuff from them and they're brilliant, shipping is expensive though!

NHK World Broadcasting On Sky Platform Ch. 516

I love this channel, the features are quite hilarious but damn interesting, the acting is ridiculously cheesy :x

Maison Ikkoku: Volumes 12-13 (1st edition)

Why don't you get the non-Americanised right-to-left versions and sell your old versions? You'd save yourself a lot of time and hassle.

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Did you buy the £300 version or the £50 version? :x Looking at most of the Japanese DVDs/BDs ever released, that £300 is absolutely not worth the money, by a long shot. Comparing it to older LE releases of films/TV series in the past.

20th Century Boys at London's ICA & DVD release

Yeah most people seem to just jump up and leave as soon as the credits roll, there was like an extra minute of extra footage and revelations from what happens after the big bomb, who survives etc then a long trailer for the second film. I'm sure you can youtube it : )
