UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

I hear the final layer of the Abyss in Made in the Abyss is all the unsold DVDs/Blu Rays from the sales. Just rows and rows of em lol Jokes aside MVM are such a generous company with all these sales for anime fans out there. They deserve all the praise in the world for doing this and doing it...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Been so long since Robertas Blood Trail first came out. I wonder if they will ever do another short season what with there being more than enough material from the manga?

    The Football Thread

The best part of football(besides the game) is the banter between fans of different teams. It was kinda funny seeing Chelsea fans singing about how 'great'(gag) their team is after the game(which they won) and having Leicester fans say some er, 'nice' things back. Nothing too bad but its just...

    Physical Copy Vs. Digital

I hope digital isn't the future for things like this because you're reliant on the servers being maintained to access your products. Thats why I think you never truly own anything digital.

I guess MVM will just randomly add titles to this sale over the next few months. I'm assuming they probably want to make room in their warehouse for new stuff?

Wow, MVM only released that series last month too. Such a huge price drop so soon.

The Gaming News Thread (for news that doesn't need a thread)

I agree. There's also so many 'fan made' games which come free with BDs in Japan that its a shame no one ever picks up and translates. Konosuba has quite a few and I think Anime Limited could charge a few quid per game and make a killing on the Playstation & Nintendo stores.

I guess it probably doesn't help that the Senran Kagura series is sort of floundering now, largely thanks to Sonys restrictive rules on lewd anime games. A few years ago before this stuff came about these shows would have done really well in the UK imo.

For five quid its worth a shot. I thought it was a 6 out of 10 show personally.

    What Games Are You Playing?

Gust also do a decent job getting their games running at around 30fps on the Nintendo Switch too. Where as Compile Heart games(Death End Re quest, Neptunia etc) are a disaster with unstable & low framerate issues. For a niche developer they're clawing their way into mainstream and when they get...

I wonder if Anime Limited will release Violet Evergarden in 4k this year?

Good choices, easily the best 5 quid you can spend on a show in that sale(Bodacious Space Pirates).

    Anime at the cinema

I had no idea Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was so popular. I noticed a fairly local cinema in Leicester(Showcase) was sold out basically for a screening this evening. I was kinda shocked when I went to book online and all the tickets were red(sold) lol.

    What Games Are You Playing?

Played some of Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, decent game. Only cost me like £10 in real terms as getting store credit for some MVM DVDs I got in the sale more than covered.

    What Games Are You Playing?

Had a quick look at Triangle Strategy. Not sure if I want to delve into that sort of game just yet tho so probably just going to leave on the shelf until Im in the mood for it.

You should, its a good series and loosely based off the DS/3DS game from Atlus. I suppose with the number of episodes they had they couldn't make a completely faithful adaptation without going through multiple seasons lol

Yeah some postal workers are terrible like that. I saw a courier guy in my town after picking up a bunch of parcels just casually throwing them into his van without a care in the world. Its like some staff just dont care. It could be anything inside those boxes.

Same. I've never had any damage whatsoever from MVM shipped orders. I think its probably a case of stuff within the UK arriving quickly enough to avoid any potential issues rather than stuff going internationally which probably get thrown around a bit in the shipping process.

Great value there with the Bodacious Space Pirates series. Such a fun little show to watch and very underrated imo.

They gave me £14 credit for the Higurashi Kai DVD which cost me £2 in the sale. I love that.
