Time for my December haul! I counted 85 volumes here.
Oh boy, my hauls just seem to get bigger and bigger... I'm not really trying to, it just keeps happening. I'm hoping to downscale my monthly hauls in 2022 because I simply don't have space to keep going at this pace but at the moment it does...
Aw thank you, I'm glad to hear that! I don't share my thoughts on absolutely everything I read but some stuff I feel deserves being praised/hyped/reviewed especially when it's on the lesser known side or I had a strong reaction to it.
How is it? These LNs are tempting me but I'm so torn about if I'll actually enjoy it, being too swept up in the hype or not, which one to even choose out of the 3...
Decided to pick this one up thanks to your review. I don't think I would have ever heard of it otherwise but it seems like something I'd enjoy, thank you.
Got an e-mail from Waterstones to say that volume 1 was available to order from them now. So, sometimes "out of print" doesn't really mean anything... I did send them quite a few passionate friendly requests to re-print it so I like to think I may have had a little hand in bringing it back.
Read BL Metamorphosis 1 and had to dive right into 2. Such a wholesome and heartwarming manga. Don't be fooled by the title, it's not a BL, just an unlikely friendship story of a teen who struggles making friends and elderly lady who bond over BL manga.
Like someone else said, eBay last sold is your best bet to see what the going price is. If you can't find it there, it's probably rare so I'd say set a relatively high bid on eBay and just see what happens? You could also approach rare manga collectors, there are some of those on YouTube who may...
Waterstones had a 50% off all hardbacks sale and I went a bit crazy buying hardbacks... ended up picking up Junji Ito's No Longer Human. I don't read horror normally (my last attempt with Blood on the Tracks didn't end well, I put it down within the first few pages cause I found it too...
Good news!!!
Volume 2 has started showing up everywhere (Amazon, Blackwells, Book Depository so far I have spotted it) and I think that is a really good sign for volume 1 aswell.
I may have gotten overexcited and placed an additional order on top of my existing Amazon one (it was still showing...
Yes, I loved it and would definitely recommend it! It's not that I have something against isekai on a whole, I just tend to be picky and go for the atypical ones. Same with harems and horror, they also exist in my collection but I'm very picky. Reincarnated as a Slime however does also take my...
Just read volume 1 of one of Seven Seas' newest releases, The Savior's Book Cafe Story in Another World.
This one is an isekai. Among all the genres I'd say I'm least interested in isekai, harems and horror. But there are always exceptions and what caught my eye about this one was that it is...
Received my first ever pre-order manga, Who Wants to Marry A Billionaire?
Before ordering this I had been pretty excited about it so I had looked at the genres online and such. And... nothing prepared me for what it actually was like, lol.
I want to be clear first and state that I enjoyed this...
Don't forget to ask publishers about reprints! Some will refuse to answer (Viz and Seven Seas in my experience) but some are so helpful and informative. I've had really good experiences asking Udon, Yen Press and Sublime. Plus you are showing them interest in the series by inquiring about it.
I've been reading Summit of the Gods and all I have to say is wow, I'm not finished yet and it's already one of the greatest manga I've ever read. I never see any talk of this whatsoever and it has to be one of the most underrated manga (in English), maybe that's just because the publisher is a...
I've purchased from them in person. I haven't bought from their site, but there are plenty of YouTube videos you can watch of people doing hauls from orders there and I always hear praise about their packaging etc.
Well, it's not entirely related to the reason I made the thread but it's related to out of print volumes and I didn't want to make a new thread.
Does anyone know why sometimes just one or two random volumes will seemingly go out of print for series?
I ended up contacting Udon and their customer service is INCREDIBLY friendly, up there with the best customer service I've ever had. They went above and beyond for me and I'm so grateful for that. Also they told me all of the volumes are currently being reprinted but won't hit shelves until 2022.
