iirc Sentai and Kaze France Blu-rays of Vinland Saga don't use the home video version.

LEONINE did an unnecessary and botched 23.976p conversion of EoE home video format version. Should have just kept it interlaced. I'm guessing they did the 23.976p conversion so that they could easily port it to PAL DVD.

The best approach would have been to use soft-pulldown; that way you can have video with progressive encoded 23.98p/29.97p and interlaced 59.94i. Dynit/Dybex BDs of Cowboy Bebop use soft-pulldown.

It means that if you were to disable any subtitles, the translation of the sign would still appear because it's baked into the video. It's I suppose not necessarily a bad thing if you don't speak Japanese, but I prefer a soft-subtitle approach.

The translations of the Japanese signs are not in the subtitle track, but they're actually burned into the video instead.

Erased, Bunny girl senpai, Promised Neverland and SAO S3 UK BDs are quite good from what I've heard. Dunno about SAO S1. KILL la KILL UK BD is not bad from what I've heard, but it has burned-in sign translations in the first 4 episodes and mono audio in episode 1. Fate/Zero UK BD picture...

I'd double dip if the films get a UK release with the original Japanese audio track. The Maiden Japan release only has the inferior Sound Renewal redub. I regret skipping the Korean sets.
