Story and character development play a big part for me. I know there are many shows where characters don't go that far or their development is just fighting or competing against more powerful opponents, but there are also shows where the characters show real growth and development and really...
Places I have always had relatively good experiences with are:
Axelmusic I use these most now as the price is generally a little less than buying R1 discs direct from the states plus the duty.
Deepdiscount.com was my main DVD source when the dollar was closer to 2:1. I still buy one offs...
I can't say anything about Shugo Chara as I have not seen it. However I own everything else on the list and would not want to give up any of them. My favourites though would be School Rumble and Ah my goddess.
I finished off Soul Eater. I enjoyed it most of the way through, but I still feel some characters were left undeveloped. I am glad it is a 51 episode show as I think it could get stale if it went on too long.
First box set of Rental Magica. Not a bad show so far, however I can't help but...
The animation looks pretty high quality from that trailer. To me it seems a bit of an odd manga to get an anime, but it has been a while since anything else similar. The story is reasonably well paced in the manga and there is definitely no moe. I hope they do a good job on Marco and the black...
I like the idea of them trying out dubbing a few series again especially series that might be successful for them. I have all the sub only releases for these except the Fist of the North Star one. I am not sure that I will rush out to buy the dub releases but Clannad and Ghost Hound would tempt...
I actually enjoyed the show, but I do agree it has some sleep inducing properties. It took me ages to watch it as I kept falling asleep every couple of episodes (trying to watch it late at night might have some thing to do with this) so I had to keep re-watching bits of it.
I thought it might be but I fancied giving it a go before buying all the manga in one go as I would be a bit miffed if I liked it and had only bought one or two volumes.
It has been on my book depository wish list for a while but I never seem to get around to buying it. I think I have been waiting for the DVD release first to see if I want to read the manga.
Finished off Tears To Tiara. Quite a worthy watch in the fantasy genre. It has a odd mix of influences from Arthurian and Roman to mid/high fantasy with Judeo-Christian themes. The characters are generally good, development seems to be kept for a select few.
Currently making my way through...
Anime:
The Skull Man
Nighthead Genesis
Manga:
Vampire Knight Volume 9
Gantz Volume 9
I needed to slow down on my spending recently with Road Tax, M.O.T. and a few other expenses around the corner. But with so much coming out subbed only (I can't forum or read manga/comics whilst...
Yotsuba volume 7. I nearly pissed myself when she goes to punch a sheep at a ranch and her dad reminds her about telling her not to punch the animals when they were at the zoo.
For ease I will use what is in my profile some of which may have changed like Black Lagoon should be in there somewhere for which I have the R1 steel books filled.
Ghost In The Shell - Films series all of if including music video bought by mistake. R1 discs including metal cases for the SAC...
I can't remember what I have watched since I was last here but two things from crunchyroll really stick out as things I can't wait to own on DVD. They are Time of Eve and Pale Cocoon, both are amazing Sci-Fi shows.
To Love Ru seems to me like an updated Urusei Yatsura mixed with Tenchi. It is...
I do about a disc a day so some where between 4 and 6 episodes a day sometimes a couple of episodes from crunchyroll as well or instead. On a weekend if I have nothing better to do I can do several whole series so 50-60 episodes is not out of the question.
