I must concur with you on that; far moreso than the quite frankly inferior anime, the Gantz manga is an essential read for anyone who can endure the horrors of scans and stomach the level of moral depravity.

I haven't seen episode four thus far, but I have to say that of all the new shows this seson, all things considered, Mushishi is my favourite, conjuring up a distinctly folklore-based vibe that few anime manage to replicate.
