Round One, Battle Three: Shinji vs. Ayato

I'm going to have to go with Shinji, he may be tettering on the periphery of sanity but when it comes to scrapping you have to admit that helps rather than hinders. ;)

Round One, Battle Four: Yomiko vs Seras

As much as I love studious femme fatale Yomiko I'm going to have to go with Seras, the sequence in the manga in which she has the gargantuan Harkonnen (sp?) strapped to her back has to be seen to be believed :P.

Wildcards Part 2 - The Guys - Extra Time

Char, I can't remember quite which reason I gave last time around, so I'll just say it's all down to that stylin' head gear. ;)

    What Games Are You Playing?

After MediEvil failed to turn up once again this morn me and my brother took a little jaunt into the high street and picked up a copy of Dynasty Warriors.........phew, now I can finally play the darn thing. ;)

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

After an agonising wait Barclays finally straightened out my bank account so today I was able to order myself a few goodies. From my new importer of choice Caiman USA (unbelievably thrifty :P) I ordered Gantz #7+ Artbox and from United Publications the closing vol of Gunslinger Girl.

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

If it's any consolation Saiyuki's a fantastic read, hope you enjoy it. :) Today I got my copy of Haibane Renmei #3, although I had to have it shipped from the states it was most definitely worth the wait, I even got a pencil board thrown in for my troubles. ;)

Sony PSP Released Sept 1st; are you getting one?

My brother picked up one a few days ago, although he has no games as of yet (a slight oversight on his part admittedly :P, but he's expecting MediEvil on monday). I quite like it, svelte, sleek and just generally pleasing to the peepers. You can also squeeze MP3s and MP4s on there , which is a...

    Truly ridiculous anime

I think what you're really after is a slice of the bizzare, blood drenched action series only anime can deliver. Excel Saga's more of a scattershot comedy whereas it sounds like you want something a little more action orientated. I'd suggest some of the more antiquated OTT splatter classics...

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

This morning some of my orders from Caiman finally arrived. I received a nice little bundle of parcels that included Last Exile #5 LE, Gungrave #3 ,both R1 imports with awesome spangly, foil covers (yes I am a fickle beast :P) and Brain Powered Collection #2. Just waiting for SEED, Texhnolyze...

    Wildcards: The Girls

lol, I'm sorry Minx, Priss just couldn't resist Leon's musk ;).

    Wildcards: The Guys

I felt compelled to vote for Char, I may know little of the character - well apart from what he looks like, but I felt this lil tournament is in dire need of a Gundam character, whilst I would have preferred Loran or Athrun, Char will have to do. ;)

Thanks :). I have a few images accompanying my musings on the series in my blog, but the selection is sparse at best. I've scoured the image galleries but I haven't turned up anything too great.

    Most anticipated September UK release?

Whilst I am looking forward to catching up with Texhnolyze and Paranoia Agent, this month it's all about one title for me, that title being Samurai Champloo. What can I say? I have a soft soft for sword swishing psychos, Geisha girls and of course shows directed by Shinichiro Watanabe ;), I...

How many of your games have you actually played/completed?

Try as I might I just can't crack the original Viewtiful Joe, not through lack of trying, it's just so god darn, friggin' difficult. :P

My latest avatar is of Turn A Gundam's foremost moon-man, Loran Cehack. PS. If anyone knows the whereabouts of any decent Turn A Gundam pics would they be kind enough to please point me towards them? :)

Round One, Battle One: Spike vs. Vash

Has to be Spike for me, he did take down the perfect killing machine 'Mad Pierrot' in Bebop afterall, thus proving he's the most dangerous gunslinger in the (quasi-future) West. ;)

Round One, Battle Two: Kirika vs. Motoko

Has to be Motoko for me, as much as I love Kirika no one breaks faces quite like Major Kusanagi! ;)

Evangelion vs RahXephon - The Rematch

Whilst I don't despise Eva - in fact I count myself amongst it's fans - I'm very much of the opinion it isn't deserving of its lofty reputation. I admire its veracity and willingness to subvert our expectations and play on our insecurities but it just doesn't have the narrative clout to back up...

    Brain Powered

Tomino's decision to declare Brain Powered as 'better than Evangelion' effectively sabotaged this show's reputation before it was even released. Which to be fair is a real shame as it's an entertaining, thought provoking series with idiosyncratic, well-developed characters and some intriguing...
