Well thats a pain. The other multi region BD players seem to be a total ripoff as the people selling them know they've got you over a barrel. Which is why I put a BD drive in my media PC.
The other option is to buy a BD drive for your PC, an internal one starts at about £40 and includes basic player software.
A util called DVDFab allows you to change the BD region. It works really well.
I've only had one expo visit where the transport was all working fine.
I will say that the expo people seem to have got their finger out with the ticketing and entry this time, although signage is still woefully poor, and the added space in the main hall was so much better than the crush back...
See my post in the playusa thread, just had a package from them and the customs declaration had the full prices on complete with invoice stuck to the front of the box. Didn't get charged though.
Its hit and miss, I've had a pile of stuff from the USA in the last couple of months and only 1...
Just got back, oh good god the DLR was a nightmare getting back!!!
Cancelled trains, Bank closed, Tower Gateway closed, ended up getting the bus from Blackwall into the centre.
Saw some of the usual faces.
I'd seen the same, it is rather confusing to say the least. Even the journey planner was saying to use it. I thought maybe you'd found something I hadn't.
I've been to just one expo in the last 4 years where there hasn't been a tube or DLR problem.
7 DVDs, with todays exchange rate a total of about £20.
However of the last 5 orders I've had from the US (totaling about £200) only one ended up with customs charges.
Just got some DVDs from TRSI, customs declaration marked with the correct value, 'merchandise' box ticked and the 'commercial invoice' stuck to the front of the box showing the value as well.
So that'll be a big no for you :)
A little reminder for those of us getting to London via Waterloo that there is engineering work on the Jubilee line so no service at all.
Although thankfully the DLR is all running!
