UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

What do you mean with "pretty strict"?
Aniplex are notorious for applying specific rules for Region B releases to avoid reverse importation. For example if they release their sets in parts, so does the other regions and the prices tend to be above the average retail price you would expect.

Demon Slayer was able to receive a standard edition, but at the cost of all of the on-disc extras be removed from the sets (so if you're interested in Episode Commentaries, Textless songs, Trailers then you had to own their limited edition sets).

Durarara!!x2 also had the OVA episodes exclusive to the Aniplex releases so they never turned up on the UK/Australian sets.

It does depend on the title though, as I found the more popular anime tend to get this sort of treatment compared to lesser known ones.

Lycoris has arrived. Set is DVD-sized to accommodate Aniplex's booklet and art cards. Not that I'm complaining: more packaging real estate to appreciate the art. It's a really nice, classy looking release, perhaps my favourite of MVM's CEs.

Nice, the DVD size packaging now makes me want to get this one too, even though I have the Aniplex of America release! I will add it to the AL CE sets I wish to order during the next big sale! Can't have too much Lycoris Recoil!

Oof, looks like they've pasted the BBFC rating over the logo.
If you look at the other text, it seems more as if the “L” is simply missing:
  • The kanji underneath lines up with the “o” and the “e” in both cases.
  • The “TV Animation lines up with the start of the first letter… Where the “L” is missing, this shifts the end along to the dot in the “i” (lateral scale remains the same). (*)

I would assume that it won’t get fixed or recalled for the CE (as Dai points out; the outer case is fine), but there will likely be an urgent review/reprint before the standard editions get out on sale!

*- shifted text means more whiteout needed. And a different colour to rewrite in the correct place. 😉
