Just rewatched Patlabor movie 1 after not watching since 90s and tbh disappointed - perhaps a few spoilers

Yup I read that after I finished watching and wanted to see what was up. His head was apparently not in it even for those 2 episodes and rather just wanted to continue focusing on the Manga. It is like I said in another post, it is like with how some great consoles of the 90s never succeeded...

    Hey, I'm obviously new here

Argh I hate how 'I just asked chatgpt' has become the new 'I just googled'. Can't get into it tbh. :) I find it unnerving how everyone is relying on it so much within a matter of months. I just watched Battle Angel Alita (again) couple of days ago. Awesome setting and style but horridly short...

Hi a(nother?) jaded 90s kid checking in

Yes it is fun to watch these old OVA/movies/series isn't it? but also sad when they end. 😢 I just finished Armored Trooper VOTOMs. I don't remember which magazines it would have been for me, probably Games Master as that is the one I recall mostly, though not sure if they would have been in...

Just rewatched Patlabor movie 1 after not watching since 90s and tbh disappointed - perhaps a few spoilers

Ack I just (re)watched Battle Angel Alita (OVA not recentish movie!) and another tease! 2 episodes. 😢 I can't get no satisfaction. World building (maybe world building is the wrong term as that means lore and stuff right? which of course there is little to none of in such a short runtime; more...

It gets points for being in the 90s style of my formative years. Enjoyed some of the wide shots of the city as well as the slum districts when they are looking about.

Thanks for replies. Hmm, in what way? I didn't have a problem when it was a loosely action oriented show albeit a bit uninspiring. When it went off the rails into the avante garde stuff it just became insufferable. I was expecting some kind of weird taboo breaking shock type ending when I heard...

Hi a(nother?) jaded 90s kid checking in

Hello, As per title, I am a product of the 90s. Had a vague interest in anime/manga but very little access to it then, living very rurally, and of course pre-broadband internet. My main interests during that time would have been Warhammer 40k, in my earlier teens, before rave music took over...

    Hey, I'm obviously new here

Hi what years was that? I am a 90s kid and do not recall any of those being on C4 although I might have been out at raves while they were being aired during that time, hmm but actually I didn't start going to those until about 99. Would actually have been prime time for me to be stumbling back...

Just rewatched Patlabor movie 1 after not watching since 90s and tbh disappointed - perhaps a few spoilers

Greetings, 1st post. I did originally watch both movies, if I recall correctly, by borrowing them on VHS from a classmate sometime in the mid 90s. I remember enjoying them though do not remember any of the content other than that they were slow paced and 'serious'. Firstly my dissatisfaction...
