Getter Robo ARC - Episode 4
Eighty-Six - Episodes 3 - 11 [Final] & 'Special'
Eighty-Six had some flaws, namely how it used a sledgehammer to get its metaphors and allegories across and how the music was over the top in the emotions it rammed home the emotions you should be feeling during a particular scene but having said all that I really, really enjoyed it! I ended up watching it in quite succession as I was so keen to see how the story unfolded, looking forward to Part 2. The 'Special' episode (11.5?) was a recap episode that I skimmed through.
Steel Jeeg - Episodes 10 - 14
NT gets a lot of deserved flak, it isn't a good film and I can't disagree with many of your comments but I gotta say I actually really enjoyed the last half an hour with the final battles.

Steel Jeeg - Episodes 10 - 14
NT gets a lot of deserved flak, it isn't a good film and I can't disagree with many of your comments but I gotta say I actually really enjoyed the last half an hour with the final battles.

GANGSTA. is an interesting series for various reasons. On one hand you have a pretty cool premise that reminds me a lot of Black Lagoon and has great characters, opening & closing theme songs and a very interesting backstory between Nicolas and Worick. However, on the other hand you have Manglobe's final adaptation that results in some animation drops in the final few episodes and an ending which will frustrate many (but on the plus side it's not a filler conclusion).
Despite its issues, I do think GANGSTA. is worth a watch and as long as you go in expecting a 'read the manga ending' you will probably have a great time altogether. Ideally I would go with an 8 but I'm settling on a high 7/10.
I haven't decided on what TV series I'll be watching from my backlog, but I am planning on watching a film before the month is over.

A Cheeky Angel Episodes 1-3 - I love this! The animation and art are wonky and inconsistent but the visual comedy works well, the direction is great, the writing is waaaay better than the majority of Kyoani shows and the show appears to have some legitimately interesting things to say about gender politics, so I'm really enjoying it
