Cells at Work BLACK eps 11-13 (complete)
Despair, the final straw? and outside intervention. Post credit scene: Poor AA2153 just when things were looking up, that happens! Sets up a sequal I guess!
Like s2 of CAW some of the info was repeated from the first season of the original, but there was a lot of new info in this series and because of the darker take it was overall a lot more interesting than CAWs2. I also quite liked the grittier visuals.
8/10

Adachi and Shimamura (English Dub) Episode 5

Cells at Work! CODE BLACK (English Dub) Episode 2

Dr. STONE: Stone Wars (English Dub) Episode 4

Cells at Work! CODE BLACK Episode 13 (Complete)

Dr. STONE: Stone Wars Episode 10

The Promised Neverland Season 2 Episode 10

The Quintessential Quintuplets II Episode 11

Yuru Camp△ Season 2 Episode 11

Cells at Work! CODE BLACK episode 13 Recover. (Complete. A darker and more grim spin-off for the CaW series but one that still offered an interesting story because of this change in tone.) 3.5/5

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars
episode 10 Sneak.

Heaven's Design Team episode 11 Younger times.

Higurashi: When They Cry - NEW episode 24 Lost. (Complete. A very engaging story, though more so for the second cour than the first. Bring on the sequel season.) 4/5

The Promised Neverland 2nd Season
episode 22 Cornered?

Yuru Camp△ 2nd Season episode 11 Stocking up.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Film) A marked improvement upon the theatrical cut. Cyborg especially got a lot more story and development and I’m curious to see what potential projects could lie ahead for the DC Universe beyond what’s already been announced.

I've always had a strong liking for Scrapped Princess-sure it's sci fi but the world building is 1st rate and the characters are very easy to relate to. And it has a really satisfying ending that ties up nearly all the loose threads.

Higurashi: When They Cry Gou episode 24
Glad to see some of you guys enjoyed it. It's a pity that it took such a nosedive. One of the many examples where the involvement of the original author doesn't guarantee that it will be good. While I'm not necessarily looking forward to the sequel, I do expect it to be more enjoyable.

Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki (English Dub) Episode 2

Fruits Basket: The Final Season (English Dub) Episode 51 I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds and concludes.

So I'm a Spider, So What? (English Dub) Episode 5

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter (English Dub) Episode 4

Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki Episode 11 Under the mask.

King's Raid: Successors of the Will Episode 25 Vengeance.

So I'm a Spider, So What? Episode 11 Exterminator.

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 11 Copy.

WIXOSS Diva(A)Live Episode 11 Never give up.

City Hunter ep17-18

The fashion designer episode has not aged well, but it is amusing to note that even when trying to design intentionally bad outfits, the models' clothes still kind of work. Tsukasa Hojo famously started his career in fashion illustration and presumably couldn't quite shake that.

Laid Back Camp S2 ep8

Someone said recently they were saving this up for when they felt most stressed; that's a good plan. It continues to be the most soothing thing imaginable.

Obsolete ep1

Curiously produced as a Youtube Original, the first episode of this CGI series tells you heroically little about its plot or characters (The US military are doing A Shady Thing in South America), but it has some exceedingly good mecha designs, and tellingly, Ryousuke Takahashi is mentioned in the credits, so I am optimistic.

Back Arrow episode 11 Wired to blow.

Jujutsu Kaisen (TV) episode 23 Spilt milk.

So I'm a Spider, So What? episode 11 Spectacle of gore.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (Film) An atmospheric and stylish action horror which impressed throughout even with the voice acting being a bit hit and miss in places. 4/5

Wakako-zake
episodes 1-12 (Complete. 12 2 minute episodes which had little bits of charm throughout and made me want to try the dishes featured.) 3/5

Once upon a Time in Hollywood (Film)
Another slow-burning Tarantino film that’s an ode to 60s Hollywood and westerns, whilst telling a winding tale which culminates in a brutal finale. The acting throughout was great too.

At first glance I thought it said 4/10.. I was stunned then rechecked. Love this movie, one of my all time faves

The Burning Budda Man
Weird, messed up but fascinating and you cant look away. The geki-mation style sure adds to the uniqueness and the insane story just springboards off it.

My First Girlfriend is a Gal
Trashy and some of the humour (especially around 1 side character) is just disgusting. Which is a shame as at its core is a fun almost anti harem show where one girl loves him, one is obsessed with him, one wants him more like a pet butler and one is in love with the girl that loves him and so hates him. It makes for some interesting dynamics in the group you dont often see.

Spice and Wolf
Charming and gentle. Is what I thought I was getting into. A whole bunch of swindling, trickery, greed, backstabbing and murder then ensued. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful and interesting the show was. The trading shenanigans are all well handled and the main pair were fun and interesting. I preferred season 1 to the 2nd but both were good.

BEASTARS Season 2 (Japanese audio) - Episode 11
Dr. STONE: STONE WARS (Japanese audio) - Episode 10
The Promised Neverland Season 2 (Japanese audio) - Episode 10

Dr. Ramune -Mysterious Disease Specialist- episode 11 Cult shenanigans.

Horimiya episode 11 The odd bunch.

Weathering with You (Film) At times Visually stunning, this was an enjoyable story which dealt with its darker themes whilst also balancing these with the more upbeat elements and likeable side characters, all whilst going for an emotional climax and resolution. 4/5

I’ve also been catching up with the recent MCU Disney+ series’ in WandaVision & The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

In a sense this is a more conventional horror film than Burning Budda Man but it's pretty weird and very messed up.

Petshop of Horrors
Enjoyed this a lot. Shame it wasnt longer as it portrayed an interesting view if people who need help but look in all the wrong places for it.

Konosuba s2 rewatch
It's so ridiculous I love it. A mad show that's so much fun. The meta subversion of the isekei and harem tropes are executed to perfection.

Air
Interesting little show that didnt play out as I was expecting at all. The first half feels very reminiscent of Clannad with the main character helping others through painful situations then the second half goes off in a mad direction. It actually engaged me a lot more in the second half as I wasnt expecting any of it. And by the end I was a lot more invested in the tragedy being told than I was at the start. Some bits did leave me scratching my head a bit I have to say but it never pushed me away from the show.

It's never quite on the level of Clannad but if you're a fan of that theres a lot to be found here to enjoy and have a bit of a cry to.

Tagging @RadFemHedonist as they were interested in my views on Air

Enjoyed this a lot.
So did I. I remember buying it in an HMV blue-cross sale back in... 2013 or thereabouts. It's a really very good four-episode series, and Japanese VA Toshihiko Seki (Senketsu in Kill la Kill) is great as always as the elegant Count D.

As for Konosuba... yes to all of what you wrote!

Kazuma's such a scumbag, isn't he? 😆
He's great. 😅

It's been at the edge of my awareness for a long time so I'm glad I finally got round to it.

One of my favourite things about it is how awful all 4 of them are. They're an absolute joy of a main cast!

You're right! 😆
The whole lot of them are either selfish b*stards or functionally hopeless, or a mix of both. There's no heroics here.

And I love how Kazuma would quite happily "drop a female opponent" in the interests of "true gender equality". 😅
It's actually genuinely thought-provoking in that way. Excellent writing, and bloody hilarious with it; I'm really chuffed to have both seasons on BD.

All we need now is the movie. Please! 🥺🤞
