The red flags announcing Penelope's death are hard to get rid of in the second volume of Villains are Destined to Die but maybe with the help of a slave with the ability to become a skilled sword master, her odds of dying aren't too bad.

A good review here. It's great this series did get released physically and people can find it for the first time. Penelope is definitely one of the best parts of the story, as like you said she's no nonsense with stuff. She knows the situation she's in, knows what she has to work with, and does whatever she needs to in order to survive. And she only gets better as the story goes on.
