It’s been a busy few months for Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and the Beast anime film over here in the UK. Firstly, it hit cinemas for a limited run (courtesy of Studiocanal) on 10th July, then it was released on home video on 4th September and now it’s available for streaming on Amazon Prime Instant Video.

Although it’s only available to stream in Japanese with hardcoded English subtitles, if you have an Amazon Prime account, this is as good a chance as any to check out the film.

The Boy and the Beast (2015) was directed by Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars) at his own Studio Chizu.

The Boy and the Beast tells the story of Kyuta, a young orphan boy living on the streets. One day, Kyuta loses his way and stumbles into the world of beasts, where he meets Kumatetsu, a warrior beast in search of the perfect apprentice. (Source)
