Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Sword Art Online II + JoJo Re-Ed

Animax UK has added Funimation backlog onto their service including Fairy Tail.

We'd heard at the MCM London Comic Con that major changes were afoot at Animax UK, and this major change has now manifested itself in public with news of some big simulcast additions to the service.
In short, the streaming site's previous exclusivity deal with Viz Media Europe is no more, allowing the service to pursue other simulcasts, particularly those previously locked to North America from FUNimation Entertainment. Thus, the following series will soon be arriving on Animax UK:
- Daimidaler: Prince Vs. Penguin Empire
- Riddle Story of Devil
- Selector Infected WIXOSS
- Dragonar Academy
- Fairy Tail
If this isn't enough, both new and existing subscribers will see Animax UK's monthly cost drop from its previous price of £5.99 to just £4.99.
We promised you exciting times ahead in the world of streaming anime, and now you can start to see why!

Just to note, the five new titles are not on the site just yet and it's unknown if the Fairy Tail series will include the previous 175 episodes, at the moment the ad picture on the Animax site is the 2014 (series 2) version.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Animax adds Funi titles

I'm glad they've lowered the price, but do wish they would do a discount if you took out a years subscription. Not sure I can pay £60 a year, as well as £40 for Crunchyroll.

Hah. Must be a relief that Animax don't have to deal exclusively with ****** Kaze anymore.
Good news for people who watch simulcasts I suppose. At least it gives you guys an option to actually watch Funi's stuff now, assuming this continues to be the case.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Animax adds Funi titles

Does this mean there's a chance of having Funi simulcasts available over here in the future?

edit: OK, I guess I ignored the actual first post and just read the one noting the updated backcatalog titles. This is potentially solid news! But obviously not as good as if they were just streaming on Crunchy.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

First post updated with Funimation list, as usual it's there to verify that the show has been picked up by Funimation and some rights may not be available to us via other sites (Crunchyroll for instance).

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

It's the first FUNi show on the list that might potentially make it to Animax (One Piece being Toei and Anime Limited having Terror in Resonance and Space Dandy).

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

Someone help me out. Animax is what Anime on Demand used to be? And Wakanim is basically just for Anime Limited series?

Animax UK is owned by Sony and is basically a spiritual successor to Anime on Demand. They managed to gain exclusive rights to Viz Media Europe streaming titles from the AOD catalogue.

Wakamin UK is a special collaboration between Anime Limited and the french streaming site Wakamin TV, it's basically an Anime Limited streaming site for now.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

This was the last email from AoD (and their first for the best part of a year):

On November 22nd Anime On Demand was closed and became Animax UK.

But don’t fret! Animax UK is set to become the UK’s Ultimate Anime Destination, bringing you all your favourites from Anime On Demand plus much much more...

You can also expect to find exciting episodes from favourites such as Magi, Persona 4, K, Tiger and Bunny, Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb alongside Death Note, Bleach, Vampire Knight and countless other anime titles, dubbed & subbed and all available in full HD.

Offering both free and subscription content, Animax will host the best anime movies, full seasons of TV series, free simulcasts direct from Japan including Beyond the Boundary, Coppelion and Magi season 2, plus exclusive clips from behind the scenes of the industry.

Here is the launch announcement for Wakanim: http://www.alltheanime.com/wakanim_faq/

OK, cheers guys. Did my AoD sub carry over to Animax?
They didn't transfer subscriptions over, though AoD users were sent an email for a discount.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

Hmm, I must have missed that. Well, at least that means I didn't miss out on cancelling my sub. ^^;

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

..which was then superceded by a better offer which was open to all and sundry
(plus the AoD offer was for a 2 week trial and one week half off, and I was billed £3 straight away and £6 exactly one month later so didn't actually get the 2 week trial)

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

That sounds about par for the course as far as their history of "customer service" goes.

Re: Summer 2014 Streaming - Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul

Glad to see Wakanim has two of the shows I am really interested in, especially pleased they have picked up Terror in Resonance.
