if you see on the cosplay section of the london expo website you can sign onloine for the cosplay contest and they have some rules about costumes and weaponary items, plus you can send in your own intro for when to arrive on the stage
its gonna be fun

here are the weapon rules for any of you sword swinging or needle throwing (in my case that is)

WEAPONS GUIDELINES

All replica weapons, as well as non-weapon props over a length of 50cm, must be brought to the cosplay desk to be checked upon arrival. If the weapon or prop is judged to be safe, we will put a small sticker on it and you will be allowed to carry it around the Expo. If not, we will keep it at the cosplay desk, but you may be allowed to carry it on stage for the masquerade. Details about which weapons are allowed are listed below:

 Replica weapons made of a lightweight material such as plastic, foam or balsa wood are allowed up to a length of 1.5m. However, edges must be rounded off for safety.

 Most kinds of replica or guns are allowed, including Airsoft and light guns. You must take the WHOLE gun to the Cosplay Point, where we will remove and keep the magazine until the end of the day. Models which do not have a magazine (e.g. revolver) will be treated on an individual basis.

 Metal replica swords are allowed, but must be ‘peace-bonded’ in their scabbard by the cosplay team. Some swords may be allowed to be removed from their scabbard for the masquerade.

If you are not sure whether your weapon or prop will be allowed, please email a description to the cosplay coordinator ([email protected]) including overall size, material type and, if it is a replica gun, the make and model no.

London Expo reserves the right to disallow any weapon if it is unsafe. Likewise, if anyone is seen acting inappropriately with a replica weapon they may have their weapon confiscated and/or be asked to leave the Expo.

Lastly, keep everything well-wrapped and out of site while travelling to the Expo. YOU are responsible for transporting props and weapons so be safe!
