Last Exile...

Ninja Boy!

Thousand Master
im waiting to start getting this series (even though im 3 volumes late, gona get love hina vols 5-6 first)

just from watching the trailer it blew me away. the music is kool, animation sweet, and generally looks good.

but iv noticed that there are some peeps here who already have these dvd's.

so anyone can fill me in on any info about the series......

It's an extremely charming, imaginative and exciting show, the world gonzo have created is so layered and believable it's evident alot of work went into it. It reminded me alot of the final fantasy games both plotwise and stylistically so if you liked those this'll definitely be to your taste

Well I have the first 3 dvds of the UK release , and it really is a great series. A brilliant plot , wonderful charecters , and exciting battles.

In brief the plot revolves around Claus and Lavie a pair of young vanship pilots ( those little ships youll have seen in the trailer ) , and events surrounding a young girl they find in their care after excepting a dangerous mission. ( If I go into too much detail I'll spoil everything for you ). The story takes in epic sky battles , speedy races , aswell as lots of charecter interaction.

Its definately a series that should be part of everyones collection , and im already looking forward to the fourth installment.

i'm waiting for the fourth to come out before buying the third - stange i know but i don't want to see the cliffhanger at the end of disc #3 and having a huge wait! :? anyway, it's absolutely amazing. well-thought-out characters, a great story and breathtaking animation. highly recommended.

Along with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, this is best series currently being released in the UK and I strongely suggest you check it out.

Totally agree with you here, both these series are absolutely brilliant.

Sounds like you've already been convinced but I'll add my piece as well- although I've only seen volume 1 (waiting for volume 2 to arrive), Last Exile more than lived up to my expectations. The style is reminiscent of Blue Submarine No. 6 (I say that simply as a remark rather than as a pro or con), and as has already been mentioned, whether it's animation, story or characters, Last Exile delivers on all three.

I just bought the first dvd of Last Exile today, i've only watched the first two episode (i've been a bit distracted by my new manga), and although i have not been instantly hooked like i was with Fruits Basket, it does seem like it has the potential of being a really good series

i just thought i would say that now i have watched the first two dvds of Last Exile i am really, really enjoying it and i can't wait to get the next dvd

It really does. I got the second disc only yesterday and i just had to watch it, even though after i had read all my manga and watched Lord of the Rings and my sister had played her new PS2 game Haunting Ground it was past twelve. We thought we would just watch one episode but we ended up watching it until 2:30 in the morning

Most episodes either end in a cliff hanger or otherwise in a fashion that has you practically begging to see the next episode. I love the style and the charecterisation in this show. The characters are easily this shows strong point, along with the visual design and the music.

Definitely watch it if you can, it's one of the best releases of the year.

I've seen all 26 eps and have to say this is my third favourite anime. My favourite character has to be Mullin. I can't wait to see what the live action movie is going to be like.

Just noticed people were chipping in with favourite charecters , right now im torn between Alex Rowe and Tatiyana ( or however her names spelled ) , as my favourite charecter.

Alex Rowe is certainly a interesting character....or do i mean good looking (reminds me of my vision of Sirius Black), either way he's a good character too....though actually last Exile is full of great characters
