Kanye West recreates AKIRA in his latest music video

The <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZd1Js0QaOI">latest music video</a> from popular hip-hop artist Kanye West recreates several iconic scenes from the classic anime movie Akira; the clips in question include the famous motorbike chase through a neon-lit Neo-Toyko.

The song, titled "Stronger", heavily samples beats from <em>Daft Punk</em>'s dance anthem "<em>Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger</em>" - which also happened to have an anime-themed music video too. Now we have 100% confirmation that AKIRA would be awful as a Live-Action film.

They needed more of the bikes and less of the scanner to make this video at least worthy of AKIRA

'It's the thought that counts' would normally be the case, but its totally pointless and horrendous to do it too AKIRA, it would have been better off left untouched (not that its affected it, in any manner); also does Mr. West appear to have seen AKIRA in any form whatsoever . . . :D . . . I think Not
 
I listened at low volume and from what I heard it sounded good, only heard Daft Punk really though so >_> I liked the video as well.

*backs away slowly hoping no one notices*
 
:lol: well that sucked. I'm just glad not many people will realise its from Akira. And he had to ruin another good song didn't he >_>. I like Daft Punk and Interstella 5555
 
That was simply crap. The special effects look terrible. Can't anyone think of something new other than copying someone elses work.

I love Akira, that makes me angry. Plus I like Daft punk!
I hope people were injured.
This has almost irritated me as much as when Lilly Allen covered Naive. That made me angry!!
 
Well I was going to make a nice long post of my own, but I think you lot have pretty much summed it up nicely... What a load of shite that was.

It isn't worthy of being likened to Akira
It isn't worthy of being called a song, hell it isnt worthy of being called entertainment in any way shape or form.
 
Song was ****, but the video, even that it wasnt that great I just see it as a tribute to Akira, hes not exactly trying to recreate Akira like everyone is saying here, hes just giving it his respect, as they say in the hood.
 
Meh. Very poor song and the video was pretty lacklustre. Should have more of the jiggy girls and neon lighted Japanese clubs!
