Is Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar worth watching?

Seen a variety of Tenchi series over the years and I was wondering if this was worth getting?

Have been looking online about it and it seems to generate very mixed views.
 
I remember when this was announced, but I honestly haven't heard anyone mention it again ever since.

There's a little bit about the first three episodes on ANN here and, judging by its rating on the ranking sites, it seems to have been reasonably well received. I guess it's just down to how much interest you have in the Tenchi Muyo franchise as a whole.

Personally, I liked Tenchi well enough back in the day, but I don't hold any great nostalgia for it and I don't feel any real desire to go back to it now.

I read that three episode review and it seemed pretty mixed.

I guess Tenchi just isn't the franchise it was for people back in the nineties.

I have fond memories of the OAV series, but could never understand the string of remakes (well I suppose they were to make money)

That there was a new series recently was a completely unknown fact
 
As much as I said I wouldn't go back to Tenchi, I'd probably at least try GXP, at a push. I liked the sci-fi fighting element of the original, so something that (possibly) pushes that to the fore seems more interesting to me.
