About time we got an update on the UK release of Drifters, considering how long Universal have been leaving us hanging around waiting for an update. As for Smartphone getting a UK release isn't really a surprise IMO considering there has been a past trend of harem shows coming to the UK previously from Funimation via Manga or MVM.

As for the actual home video release of both titles, Smartphone should pass the BBFC without a problem, however Drifters is a different story as there is a couple of scenes (one in particular) that the BBFC might take an issue with. Hopefully we get a positive result from both.
 
Two errors in the article: Drifters has both a DVD and a BD listing on Zavvi, so it's not just DVD only. Also, the Australian release for Drifters was also mentioned, and that is a DVD/BD combo, not just DVD only.

Zoom says AB so yeah Region Free also. If its a SE Ill probs import the US now a new cheaper release is coming
A CE ill wait and see as this is higher RRP than the other universal releases iirc
 
What may be worth keeping an eye on are the extra features. Universal was able to offer Arslan chibi bonuses in their release whereas the Funimation version didn't.
 
The US extra features are as follows:
  • Episode Commentaries for the English dub
  • Inside the Episodes
  • Promo Videos
  • Textless Opening & Closing
  • Trailers
There are some anime related stuff not included in Funi's version:
  • Drifters Special Edition - essentially a recap/recut of the first two episodes
  • Drifters OVAs - aka episodes 13 & 14
  • Drifters: Kokuou-sama Goranshin - 8 minute short parody
  • Drifters: Kokuou-sama Goranshin Part 2 - 2 minute short parody from the OVA episodes
