I forgot to make one!

Straw Hat Pirate
Well I've been hanging around for a few weeks now, but as I completely missed this section (I mean who reads *ALL* the way to the bottom, seriously ;))
Ironically I joined after finding this forum, after a simple comment on facebook in response to Manga steamrolled and the semi-news it generated, generated a thread here :)

As you can probably grab from my avatar, I'm a bit of a S&W nut. I wouldn't say it's the series that got me INTO anime, I'd probably blame that on Elfen Lied, but it is the series I first truly fell in love with so to speak, and thus I've got more collectibles for it than about anything else, which includes a relatively rare figurine, a wall canvas, both artbooks, all the US releases (both versions of S1 DVD) etc.

My favoured genres of anime tend to be fantasy, drama, rom-com and sci-fi (inc supernatural), but I'll dabble in just about anything.

I got into the hobby the best part of 2 years ago now, one of my two younger brothers has loved anime/manga for years (he's the sort that used to be a bit OTT) and one of my older friends also has an interest, and between the two of them, they managed to show me enough stuff that wasn't the more traditional shounen that it started to peak my interest.

I actually find it hard to pick my exact favourite shows, my spot memory is absolutely terrible at times, but off the top of my head, a few of my favourites are:

Beck
Kanon (this was the first anime I bought I think)
Spice and Wolf
Toradora!
Bakemonogatari

I also have a profile on MyAnimeList under Tyranuus (which includes a few shows I watched when I was younger)...which suggests I've managed to watch a staggering 40+ days of anime, the majority of which in the last couple of years. A few minutes then

Outside of anime my main interests are music, video games etc without excluding the socialising aspects like going to the pub with friends.

Feel free to drop me a message anytime!

Hello &welcome to the forum.

As far as Spice & Wolf goes, I have the Funimation blu-rays of S1 & 2 waiting to be watched. Also I have a couple of volumes of the books & manga.

Hope you enjoy them, the anime is extremely good, as are the books and manga.
It's one of the few properties I know where every version of it is popular and gets good writeups.

Nice choice on the favourites, I have to admit that Kanon is my favourite that Kyoani productions of Key. That is until if Little Busters makes a viewing.

Welcome to the forums :) It's never too late to make a intro thread.

Nice choice on favourites, *checks MAL profile* awesome you got Claymore and Rosario+Vampire listed as your favourite manga. Both are also favourites of mine too :)

Yeah, I'm terrible on favourites though, I tend to forget a series, then be reminded and be like 'Wow! I forgot that one, that was awesome!' heh

Btw for anyone briefly interested, here's a collected picture of my Spice and Wolf collection at current. Click the thumbnails to go to imageshack where you can see the entire image.

The gold coins on the canvas are the limited edition ones Funimation released; the Golden DVD and the book in the left of the picture is Wolf and the Golden Wheat, it was the only way you could originally get Ep00 of season two, which is a personal favourite. Its region 2 as well, so I can actually watch it if I feel like it :)

I also have the 3/4/5th volume of the manga in the post right now, Vol 5 of the light novels ordered and due next month, and am always with my eye out for the Yunomi and other cool stuff that isn't rediculously over expensive, or a little OTT (Dakimuras...I'm looking at you)

I might have something you don't (can't be sure)... the jigsaw puzzles that came with the first press of the JP DVDs for Season 1. :s

And then you have everything else, which I don't, so I can't brag too much either way. ^^;

Yeah I don't have those. I was a little late to the party for some of the things I'd really like to have now like the Yunomi mugs, which were available early on but dropped off the radar after a short while.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's a good sign you haven't made an intro thread until now! Most people who make an intro thread when they join post once and never return!

*dissapears* hehe
Nah not much chance of that unless the forum went dead. It seems more lively here than UK anime so I guess that won't happen. It's good to have places you can discuss things, and have a small chance someone might know WTF you're on about :)
