After Hatsune Miku made a guest performance on the U.S.'s Late Show with David Letterman earlier this week, there's no doubt that the Vocaloid sub-culture is invading the west! After holding 3D hologram concerts in various countries across the world, the organisers of next month's Hyper Japan Christmas Market have now confirmed that, with huge thanks to the volunteer group Mirai no Neiro and licensor Crypton for giving permission, ateendees will be able to enjoy a concert from everyone's favourite virtual idol!
Throughout the event's three day run, there will be multiple half-hour long 3D screenings that will be proceeded by short talks about the history and cultural significance of vocaloid. Screenings will be limited to a capacity of 100 people, but there will be many during the course of the event, with exact timeslots to be announced soon.
The event will also have "community tables" near the screening room where fans will be able to get together and take part in vocaloid-related activities and competitions.
