Crunchyroll have been in the news lately for both removing a lot of content and adding in some new series, but despite this the service is still struggling. We take a look at the problems plaguing the manga arm of the anime industry's biggest streaming platform.

while the apps are usable, they have a host of issues for some people
Yep, everything is in dollars. No way to order the manga, you can choose featured or newest, but not alphabetical or price. And talking of price, even though I'm a premium member there appears to be no free manga to try, maybe a chapter here or there for the bigger titles and even a volume for the lest popular ones.
As such I haven't used the app to actually read a manga, so I don't know if it has a similar feature to Comixology (which does have various free bits and bobs) where you can zoom in on individual panels or not.
