I think the first question is are you prepared to import?

I haven't a clue whether or not it was released on DVD. I'd assume it was a TV only dub. I think it'd be time much better spent hunting down Geneon's sub-only DVDs.

Look forward to subtitles that make little sense then.

i know... but if the english dub was on there it wud make little difference.

if i cud only get the original jap audio then i wud just buy the americans dvds.

I don't think there was an uncut dub for it. It was one of those shows that was rearranged and cut up so much that you couldn't really even fit the english audio over the original footage.

Animax showed CCS in its entirety (uncut) with its self-funded new dub.

You can get all 18 volumes of Geneon's OOP release for $700 on ebay.

oh really *looks toward his 18 vols he got for £62*

*does the same, but then pets them as even that amount wouldn't part her from the series*

But the region 1 subtitled release are definitely worth getting. The uncut version is a complete joy. I think I watched all 70 episodes and the two movies in the space of three days as I literally couldn't turn it off, and it left me happy and floaty for weeks afterwards as it's such a sweet show.

wasn't quite that bad, but it's definatlly my most loved series i've seen.

and unfortunatly, it turned me to tsubasa chronicles, which is a bigger drain on my piggybank

Well I dunno about that actually, if I didn't own the CCS DVDs and I couldn't find them for a reasonable price (in the current situation), I wouldn't go and spend a bomb on them, there's already an HD remaster in Japan, so a Blu-ray some time in the future is given, and I'd bet on it being released again in some form in America, or maybe even the UK.
I'm saying this because Geneon's DVDs when I watched them really didn't seem very good video quality. Probably a VHS rip or something, though I'll have to check again to make sure. It'd make sense though considering when they were released.

Oh how I long to see CCS in HD.

I don't see why you would think that. Apparently it didn't really do that well on DVD so for it to be rereleased on Blu Ray is a long shot in America and especially the UK at least not anytime soon.

I meant it's given that there will be a Japanese Blu-ray release of CCS. And I'd assume it'll be released in some form (I didn't say specifically Blu-ray, but that'd be the most smart option) again in the US or UK at some point in the future, however many years that may be.

And I say more chance in the UK because less hoops have to be gone through to get it out here, you're sub-licensing it from the American/Australian license holders instead of directly from the Japanese, and all the materials are already done, though I'm not sure if Madman have released CCS yet so I wouldn't know if there was a PAL convert readily available (if the UK company went the DVD route). It'd be wise for someone to release CCS in the UK anyhow, it had TV exposure (albeit of the wrong sort) years ago so some people will have the memories of it in their minds, so casual buyers may make it a success.

Of course none of this has any chance of happening (Blu-ray-wise) until Japan release it, though.

I spread out my watching of CCS. Though I don't know if it was just me, or did anyone else get annoyed at the cases the DVD's were in? I got mines from up1, and I swear the cases were really difficult to get the discs out without fear of breaking them. I'm now majorly paranoid about trying to take one out cause it couldn't be easily replaced..
